For the last time, Todd Akin is staying in
Washington Post ^ | 9/25/2012

On the last day Missouri Rep. Todd Akin (R) could withdraw from the race against Sen. Claire McCaskill (D), he made clear in a press conference that he’s going to keep on keeping on.

Akin compared himself to Harry Truman, who he said was “pitched overboard” by the “Democrat Party” in his 1940 Senate reelection campaign. Truman made history, he said, and “we’re going to do it again.”

Well, it’s up to the people of Missouri to do the right thing. He said a stupid thing, but the voters there are the only ones who can make the choice they need for their state. He is, after all, very conservative and would serve his state well in the senate. IMHO.....

He said a couple of dumb things. At least he has the stones to stick up for himself. That’s more than most of the spineless wonders in Washington do.

Some Conservative groups have decided to give money to him again as of today an earlier report stated. I haven’t checked the latest polls there in MO...where is he at? 5 points behind? 10?

As I have been walking and talking in my district
there appear more of the people for him rather than
against roughly over half and that includes Dems.

The U S needs Todd and a Majority in the Senate.
Party rulers, Support TODD OR GET OUT OF THE WAY!!!
By the way, try asking for funding support after
the elections, NO TODD DOLLARS, NO RNC.

GO TODD GO!!!!!

McCaskill is already out with a new ad asking, ”What will he say next?”

It's not what he says that is important, Clairabelle.

It's what he does and votes for and against.

This is the Show Me state, Clairabelle, or have you forgotten???

He said a couple of dumb things.

Oh, was that HIM that said "I've now been in 57 states -- I think one left to go." and "What I was suggesting -- you're absolutely right that John McCain has not talked about my Muslim faith..." ?

RCP has McGaskill up 5, but it looks like there have been no public polls for a couple of weeks.

I sure hope Peggy Noonan doesn’t blow out her new facelift over this.

When what he says makes him look like an idiot then it's very important.

He better not cost us the senate because of his stupidity and stubbornness.

Yeah, I'm glad he is sticking it out for better or worse. The Democrates do it, so what is good for the goose is good for the gander.

A quick note, I did take his "gaffe" differently than most people, it took "legitimate rape" as to mean when they get to the point where it crosses the line between attempted rape an rape itself in which at that point, it is a "legitimate rape." I've said form time to time, most likely I have Asperger's Syndrome (I was very slow as a kid and still slow in some areas such as dating, I was tested for autism 40 years ago, sure would explain a lot) so there are times I see things in a different light and angle from most people.

Well that should end the faux democrat support he has been getting up until this point of no return. Time for the huckster and others to put their money where akin’s mouth goes.

As long as there is no public visibility of any GOP support he may not drag the rest of the ticket down with him.

I’m hoping MO realizes how bad his opponent really is and votes for akin anyway.

What he said and she said last Friday in their first televised debate made her look like an idiot.
