Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) on Tuesday said if he could address the United Nations General Assembly, he’d have told the diplomats that those who attack U.S. embassies will be visited by “the angel of death.”
“My statement to the United Nations would have been, ‘The future does not belong to those who attack our Embassies and Consulates and kill our Ambassadors,’” West wrote on his Facebook page.
“The Angel of Death in the form of an American Bald Eagle will visit you and wreak havoc and destruction upon your existence.”
West was critical of President Obama’s address to the assembly. Obama condemned the violent protests that have swept through the Middle East and offered a defense of free speech.
But West said Obama continued to blame an anti-Islamic video for the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya that resulted in the death of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other Americans. Republicans argue the attack was premeditated and have questioned the administration’s story that militants took advantage of unrest stirred by the video.
“In his speech today to the United Nations, President Obama stated six times that the attacks across the Islamic world are attributed to a silly video,” West wrote. “Furthermore, he refused to use the words terrorist attack in referring to what occurred in Benghazi, Libya at our US Consulate on the 11th anniversary of 9-11.
“He continues to offer up apologies instead of defending our hard earned First Amendment right to freedom of speech and expression,” West continued. “There is no message to this silly video trailer, and it is beneath the dignity and esteem of the Office of the President of the United States to mention it at all.
“When tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide,” said West, who promised to “not be tolerant of the intolerant.”
“I know about the UN Resolution 1618 which would make any statement deemed by the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) offensive to Islam a crime,” West’s Facebook post concludes. “NOT ON MY WATCH FELLAS!”
Given contemporary American society, I am fearful that it is more likely an Angel of Death will appear to chastise the USA.
Why would God continue to bless the USA, given the changes to our society in the past couple of generations?

As a compromise, perhaps Ray Nagin could have addressed the UN

That was my first thought. Except we’re already in “act I” of chastisement.
Romney would be wise to name West to his Cabinet.
I would carry his water, with pride.
I SO want him to run for President in 2016.

Because thousands of faithful hit their collective knees every day and pray for our Nation. We need never to forget the power of prayer and the mercy of our Heavenly Father.

Perhaps in another four years, he will be...we need a President that is not afraid of not being politically correct and says what he means...that is LTC West.
