But her issue is that she was sitting in Massachusetts doing the work. The issue you raise is that a lawyer sitting in, for instance, New York City, may undertake a corporate transaction or work with local counsel to litigate a case in say, Texas. That happens all the time. But what doesn’t happen all the time is that someone goes to New York and opens an office there and practices law from that office without being barred in New York. That is a problem.
He should know
well I don’t know, if she was admitted temporarily pro hac vice and the litigation took 3 years and there was just Travelers..............maybe you are correct, I don’t know all the circumstances
Yup.
She represents the folks at the local pow-wow.
It’s a job protection type arrangement. Kansas wants to keep Missouri lawyers from waltzing in and taking their clients and vice versa. It is really silly IMHO. If you are licensed in any state, you ought to be okay anywhere, I think. But no, the local bar associations take issue with that.
PING!
Lieawatha is a hard core leftist, therefore a citizen of the world.
She don't need no permission from genocidal white men.
Neither office in New Jersey could state whether her license was continuously active until her resignation because the computer only shows the current status, so I have made the request in writing as instructed. By resigning her New Jersey license earlier this month, Warren made it more difficult for the public to determine her pre-resignation status.
By all available information, Warren never has been licensed in Massachusetts, but at varying times has had active law licenses in Texas and New Jersey, although currently she is not licensed in either jurisdiction. It is unclear whether during the years she represented Travelers and others Warren was actively licensed anywhere.
I emailed the Warren campaigns spokesperson, Alethea Harney, after the debate Thursday night requesting a list of all jurisdictions in which Warren was licensed to practice law. I requested that the information be provided by Friday morning specifically so I could include the campaigns response, but I received no response.
She she evolving from Lie-a-watha to Lawyer-watha with forked tongue.
I'm not so sure, I think it depends on the case. If I'm in federal court, I'll agree. But if I pass away and the state seizes all my assets, leaving my family out in the cold because my lawyer didn't know about my states particular legal twists when he drafted my will, well, I'd be pretty upset from the cloud I'm sitting on.
Did you read the lengthy, well-documented article?
Lie-a-watha White Cloud uses legal smoke signals to obfuscate her resume' and family tree. She has successfully shape-shifting into an ass.
From Brietbart, neither the Warren campaign nor the firm she worked for in the Travelers case will say where she was licensed.

Did the run the names Fauxcohontas and Liawatha?
If it weren’t for the fact that leftie professors can get away with just about anything, I’d think she’d also have a problem with Harvard. I don’t think it’s a normal practice to use an academic office to do commercial law practice.
Sure, you could take an occasional phone call when you happened to be there, but to use it as a commercial office and even to advertise it as such strikes me as a major conflict of interest.
And what does this say about Harvard’s status as a non-profit organization?
State laws and even state constitutions vary quite a lot, that is why a Lawyer must be licensed by the state to practice in that state.
Yes but please remember she has 1/60 (or was it 1/250?) Indian blood. That exempts her from laws that us mortals must abide by.
Demoncrap elites always operate on the basis of “the laws are
for thee and not for me”.
The Barbara Boxer of the east worked hard for that title. Oh, wait.
