President Barack Obama hit back hard in a "60 Minutes" interview broadcast Sunday at Mitt Romney's criticisms of his handling of Syria and Iran, saying that if the Republican standard-bearer "is suggesting that we should start another war, he should say so." Obama also brushed aside talk that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been pressuring him to take a harder line on Iran's suspicious nuclear program source of some of Romney's sharpest campaign-trail criticisms. "When it comes to our national security decisions-- any pressure that I feel is simply to do what's right for the American people. And I am going to block out any noise that's out there," the president said. "Now I feel an obligation -- not pressure but obligation -- to make sure that we're in close consultation with the Israelis-- on these issues, because it affects them deeply," Obama said. "They're one of our closest allies in the region. And we've got an Iranian regime that has said horrible things that directly threaten Israel's existence."

Turkey and Greece are members of NATO although I wouldn't say either one could be counted on--Turkey double-crossed us in 2003 when we were about to invade Iraq and there are a lot of leftists in Greece.
You make a good point but, whether they care or not, it's better to be strong and resolute than weak and indecisive.
Iran has been at war with the US since 1979. some Americans realize this, some will go to absurd lengths to ignore it.
How can Romney “start” anything, since you, ya lump, already started this engagement?
I really hate this wicked, lying scumbag devil. NON_STOP GOEBELLS LYING! NON-STOP, EVERY WORD OUT OF HIS MONTH!
Libya wasn’t an ally, it had just been forced to accept western terms on its WMD programs, and was opening up a bit. but an ally, it was not.
China’s been rather interested in it of late.
According to al Qaeda’s head honcho Zawahiri, what they have to win is not a physical fight which they would lose but a media battle which they believe they will win.
Obama’s been doing everything he can to prevent any serious moves against Iran or against Syria. Looking at who some of his fundraisers are - many of them cozy with Iran- it should not be too suprising that he has shown a reluctance to address Iran.
No, the only pressure he feels is to avoid any blame or responsibility for any actions he takes, not recognizing that inaction is the same as action.

What Congressman Alan West said on Greta Van Susterns Show in a Discussion of Obama and his Foreign Policy was great.
He asked Greta if she Knew what operation Vengeance was,she replied No she did not,He proceeded to explain that during WWll American Intelligence learned of Admiral Yamamotos travel to a Japanese base ,they sent an Army Air Corp. Fighter to intercept the plane, they did so and shot the Guy out of the sky,West said that was a Tactical success, not a Foreign Policy success,it did not win WWll,Killing Bin Laden was a Tactical Victory. Killing Bin Laden is Not a Foreign Policy and the Terrorists are now attcking our Embassies all over the Middle East. Obama has no Foreign Policy
I watched about 5 minutes of that 60 minutes hit job. First off, Romney gets the anal probe regarding exact tax policy questions, with follow ups. Then his excellency gets interviewed by Square Head who asks the first question, something like how do you feel about a republican congress that has refused over the past two years to approve any legislation you have offered?
That was all I could take and I went back to watching the NFL.
More like he wants to let the muslims know what happens if they screw with us.
