Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)was not well received at a gathering held by the American Association of Retired Peoples on Friday. After Ryan said the first step to strengthening Medicare is to repeal President Barack Obamas Affordable Care Act, the crowd erupted into boos.
After promising to repeal Obamacare, the crowd jeered. I had a feeling there would be mixed reactions, said Ryan amid the chorus of booing.
It weakens Medicare for todays seniors and puts it at risk for the next generation, said Ryan to more booing.
You may not have heard this side of the story, said Ryan, after detailing the Medicare funds stripped in order to fund the ACA. The law turned Medicare into a piggybank for Obamacare.
You dont have to take my word for it, Ryan said. Ask the chief actuary for the center for Medicare and Medicaid services.

“I’ve been filling the mailer with old metal washers that I get from a friend who repairs cars. He gives me all of the old washers and I store them until I need to “respond” to AARP mailings. It’s very satisfying ... “
Your washers are probably not making it through the mail sorting machines. They use pinch rollers. A friend sent me some shim washers for an old Shobud I was restoring. There was a hole in the end of the envelope where the pinch rollers had pushed the washers right through.
You need something flat, and about the same size as the return envelope. Might I suggest sheet lead, used by roofers as flashing. Easy to cut with heavy duty sheers, and pretty cheap from Lowe’s or Home Depot. And HEAVY!
Ryan was brilliant he simply kept talking and absolutely silenced the boo birds.
AARP = American Aging Radical Progressives
Thanks to all who gave the advice of "SEND IT BACK, with comments" in their self addressed envelope, I will do that.
Bet ya, internally you are still on their rolls, just not their mailing list. boy am I skeptical, I trust no one.
Thanks for posting this thread.
Ryan did just that. He kept talking and telling the oldsters the uncomfortable facts about Obama-care. Could of heard a pin drop in the room.
Thanks for the updated idea ... that sounds a lot better than the washers. Now that I think about it, I may have some of that in my shed that was left over from the last roof that I put on my room extension.
Ehhhhhh....it’s AARP.....they thought they were at a baseball game.
Obama: We Don’t Have To Worry About It Short Term (debt)
I suppose the AARP crowd agrees with Obama. Stick it to the future generations. I am starting to develop a bad attitude here...
Could of heard a pin drop in the room when Ryan brought this up. Absolutely shut down the boo birds.
AARP is full of crap. You know the clowns who showed up there were leftist jackballs. I am betting most of the people (or a lot of them....) are not leftist jerkwads....
Maybe the alternatives to AARP ought to start peeling away members from places like The Villages.
Seriously, I’m sick of the AARP being a pro-Democrat organ. Same with the NAACP. And NBC, CBS, and ABC, too.
I heard the soundtrack, and it sounded to me like the crowd booed when Ryan mentioned Obama. But then it was a greedy geezer rally, so it could go either way.
That is why at age 27 I want my own SS account...
commie AARP promoting lies..just like administration..
yes it is ..and that is why i wont join..millions of people think they are a good deal but not me.
uuumm no. You can buy a medicare supplement and med Part D drug through hundreds of different insurance co's.
You need to fire your agent for crappy information. AARP uses United Healthcare for their insurance carrier. What about BC/BS, Humana, Aetna on and on.
Most of the tweets said he gave a great speech.
If you join AARP and never buy anything from them, they probably lose money on you. Their main goal is to sell you health insurance and life insurance.
