The ones that have been & are outside China are “cashed up”, communist or not, would mostly still support China. (period/full stop).
They mostly like the freedoms, opportunity to make money elsewhere. Make no mistakes, they are hard working, persistent, great/tough traders/business people, expedient in their politics, diplomatic (when required), and don’t give a damn if they had to play dumb, deaf & blind. Life is cheap to them, even for their own race. They are in a word “persistent” as a race, individually.
The US should not allow itself to become further enslaved to China for $$$$$$$$$$$$$. The old saying is that those who pay you OWN you.
I hope to God Panetta is not reassuring the Chinese of any such thing.

I, by no means, rub shoulders with the political class however, I’ve met a lot of politicians through my place of employment: Pelosi, Gorton, McDermmitt, Gregoire etc...
I totally disagree with his politics but, Locke was the first professional liberal I’ve met who didn’t come off like a complete prick. He was pretty nice and didn’t mention politics once.

Same exact thing happened to Mexico with France and Egypt with Britain. Chicoms will invade the US and take over because Obama borrowed money to buy used cars, start “shovel-ready” projects, and “stimulate” the economy. Mexico lost a war and a lot of territory to the US, and couldn’t pay back France. Egypt built the Suez Canal, and Britain wanted more security for their loan. The US built what with the money borrowed from China?
