The fact is, Romney told the truth. And he was right: most of those hard core 0bama zombies are never going to vote GOP, and if we take that 47 percent figure as being accurate, Romney rightly should be going after the 53 percent of the voters who are NOT sucking the government teat for everything possible.
This is Romney’s “the bombing starts in 5 minutes” moment. The press will be apoplectic, while most people are shouting enthusiastic support.
I think that so-called “gaffe” may end up being a very effective campaign theme. I know quite a few people who fit right in that 47% group ... but would hate to think of themselves as being part of a minority in any given situation.
