The U.S. State Department is currently in negotiations with the Egyptian government for the transfer of custody of Omar Abdel-Rahman, also known as “the Blind Sheikh,” for humanitarian and health reasons, a source close to the the Obama administration told TheBlaze.
Glenn Beck revealed the controversial news on his show Monday.
The negotiations are allegedly part of the ongoing discussions with the Egyptian government to resolve the crisis plaguing the Middle East, the source told TheBlaze. Calls to the State Department for comment referred us to the Department of Justice, and nothing has been confirmed.
The Blind Sheikh is serving a life sentence in American prison for his role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. His release has been called one of the top priorities of the new Islamist administration in Egypt. Many have pinpointed the cause of last week‘s unrest in Egypt to be protests over the Blind Sheikh’s release– not an anti-Islam YouTube video.

If it were me in the chair, the jihadi would be dropped into a pen full of feral pigs which had not been fed in 4 days.
These agents of satan were trying to topple one tower into the other one to cause tens of thousands of deaths if not more. It was either dumb luck or divine intervention that that didn't happen. As it was, six Americans were killed in the attack. It was conspiracy to commit mass murder in which there was aggravated homicide and I never understood why all of the conspirators didn't received the death penalty with an expedited appeals process.
Maybe before the blind sheikh gets on the plane back to Egypt, he should be given a special cup of tea. I must give credit to Putin for that method. I consider him an enemy, yet sadly I have more respect for Putin than I do for Obama.
I am hoping that those in the State Dept. and DOJ that have finally seen the light around Barry is not a halo, are starting to leak these things to stop them. I can hope.
Well, if you look at everything else he's done, he's clearly quite capable of responding to terrorism, murder and mayhem by letting the blind sheik go home, and delusional enough to think it's a brilliant plan.

The federal government has no authority to suspend any elections -- for any reason. The federal government doesn't control elections in America, the states control them. How would Obama suspend an election on November 6, 2012 for say governor in a state? He can't. There is no way Obama can suspend any election. Not even for dog catcher.
The terms of Representatives and 1/3 of the Senators expire in January 2013 along with Obama's own term as President. None of them could legally stay in power at the expiration of their respective terms. And no one would consider anything Obama did as legal or having any authority. Even the Secret Service and the military would walk away from him and ignore him.
How about we send Obama to Egypt instead?
Yeah, he makes me gag whenever I see him in the news.

Maybe obama is trying to provoke some type of (ahem) reaction from the right.
I see this a lot. I don't know how Obama can unilaterally suspend the elections, because there are more elections on the ballot than Obama's potential landslide loss.
How can Obama stop a state from holding an election for that state's governor? It's entirely a state matter. If a state is going to proceed with an election for its governor, how can Obama justify removing the presidential race (and potentially all Federal race), but keep the state and local races?
The only stretch of an excuse (and why let that stop Obama), is that he'll say that it's not "fair" that he can't focus on reelection because he is "stuck" running the country in a time of crisis, while Romney is not so constrained. Therefore, in the name of "fairness" for the people who deserve a "competitive election" (the excuse used in New Jersey to replace Torricelli), he would try to stop the Federal election until such time as Obama can "fairly" participate.
Recall that Lincoln felt no such pressure in 1864. Nor did Roosevelt in 1941. Nor did Madison in 1812.
