I was raised as an evangelical Christian in America, and any discussion of Christian-Jewish-Muslim relations around the world must include the phenomenon of American Islamophobia, for which large sectors of evangelical Christianity in America serve as a greenhouse.
At a time when U.S. embassies are being attacked and when people are getting killed over an offensive, adolescent and puerile film targeting Islam - beyond pathetic in its tawdriness – we must begin to own up to the reality of evangelical Islamaphobia.
Many of my own relatives receive and forward pious-sounding and alarm-bell-ringing e-mails that trumpet (IN LOTS OF CAPITAL LETTERS WITH EXCLAMATION POINTS!) the evils of Islam, that call their fellow evangelicals and charismatics to prayer and “spiritual warfare” against those alleged evils, and that often - truth be told - contain lots of downright lies.
For example, one recent e-mail claimed “Egyptian Christians in Grave Danger as Muslim Brotherhood Crucifies Opponents." Of course, that claim has been thoroughly debunked, but the sender’s website still (as of Friday) claims that the Muslim Brotherhood has “crucified those opposing" Egyptian President Mohamed Morsy "naked on trees in front of the presidential palace while abusing others.”

Last year on Coptic New Years there were islamofascist fanatics and morons running about Egypt murdering Copts ~ and that was scheduled to happen this year as well ~ happens on 9/11, more or less, but the Coptic calendar is not in synch with the Western religious calendars so the day will vary. They are also 8 years behind!
For some reason the Egyptian mob that'd been gathered to murder Copts in Cairo, maybe even burn them alive in their churches as they have been known to do, got all tied up demonstrating at the US embassy.
Bet that tied some knots in the mullahs' dhottis but whom am I to judge.
Regarding crucifixion, just the day before some AlQaida pukes in Yemen say they'd assassinated another Yemeni for spying on them and helping guide our drones to their targets.
So, yes they do crucify folks ~ known to do it as a matter of course ~ and in the Middle East Moslems are entitled by their religion to engage in private murders commited against their family members or people who are not the ruling clique's brand of islam.

Read the book Bonhoeffer by Eric Metaxas, the story about a true Christian martyr and a real model of resistance and staying true to the Gospel. Does this guy’s story in any way emulate that Bonhoeffer story. There were many McClarens in Germany 1933 to 1945, kowtowing to the Nazis, encouraging Christians to accept their servitude and accept a false evil gospel, to remain passive and allow yourself to be subjugated. To circle a square and say Nazism and its dedication to the goal of a socialist utopia was what Jesus would want. To ignore the atrocities, the anti Semitism, the hate, the violence. This man is coming very close to committing the unpardonable sin, blaspheming the Holy Spirit, attributing God’s word as evil and incomplete, saying the pure words of our Lord are really wrong, intolerant and that he Saint McClaren is the oracle of what God would want. I think if Jesus were here to walking among us today Islam would be the first thing he would address, refute, discredit and grind to dust.
What do you think happens when He returns?
When He returns there will no longer be an Islam. So the very idea of evangelical islamophobia is silly. We may fear for our lives if they should take over the world ... but in the end ... Islam will be destroyed.

Surely the author of this passage understands that "Islamophobia" had been part and parcel of the Western World for nearly 1300 years. John Smith (of Jamestown and Pocahontas fame) was a Muslim slave until he broke free. The Moors captured American sailors until Thomas Jefferson, et al, sent our Marines to squash those budding terrorists. I suspect our forefathers didn't write anything in the Constitution about not covering this plague on mankind by the First Amendment because they never dreamed that their descendants would invite this pestilence onto our shores with open arms...
All of that being said, I once read someone say that a Christian's attitude to Islam is to take this as an acrostic for "I sincerely love all Muslims" ...
It might seem hard, but Christ loved us - all who were the worst of sinners. The Muslims really don't know what they are doing. They know there IS a God (give them credit where credit is due), but they've had this satanic book foisted upon them and they are trapped. Those Muslims brave enough to break their chains get an automatic death sentence (not always carried out - but they get the death sentence, nonetheless). I was reading a book (Secret Believers) about a Muslim Brotherhood member who burned churches and attacked Christian Arabs whenever he could. He was such a 'good' zealot, and also intelligent, that his mullah gave him the task to read the Bible to write a pamphlet about how the Bible had obviously been corrupted. He took his assignment with zeal, but after the reading, and the studying, of the Bible for many months, and comparing it to his Koran ... he realized that the Bible was the truth and Jesus Christ was God's Son and Saviour of the world. He became a strong witness for awhile ... but then his old brotherhood members tracked him down and disemboweled him for leaving their cult...
So pray for the Christians in these areas, and for the Muslims who have converted, and also pray for those Muslims trapped in their cult -- they really don't know what they are doing.

Every time I think about Islam and the 7th Century barbarian animals that believe in it I get this reaction.
I've been suffering from Islamonausea since at least September 11th, 2001.
The only thing that seems to help me get over my recurring bouts of Islamonausea is to think thoughts about how much better the whole world would be if all 1.2 Billion of them just vanished from the Earth.

A phobia is a baseless or unwarranted fear. “Islamophobia” is self-preservation in its purest form. They will enslave or kill you if they get the chance. So it is not a phobia, it is a survival strategy.
In other words, Islamophobes are the likes of Mr. McLaren.

Remember, she spoke at the convention as “a Catholic woman” who was worried about the War on Women and said she feared that contraceptives would be taken away from women if Obama did not win the elction.
The biggest war within the USA is against all faithful Christian people who believe in Jesus Christ and walk the walk, not those like Caroline, Brian, Nancy Pelosi, etc..

I have a degree in German, and studied history extensively. I am quite familiar with Bonhoeffer. Your comparison of Bonhoeffer with this McLaren guy is spot on. McLaren would make an excellent “Biedermann” in the screenplay “Biedermann und die Brannstifter.”
