He also said that Iran warned that oil shipments through the strategic Strait of Hormuz will be in jeopardy if a war breaks out between Iran and the United States. Iranian officials have previously threatened to close the waterway, the route for a fifth of the world's oil, but less frequently in recent months.

Isn't this a golf day for Hussein?

One button take care of all of this. One bright flash ends it.

And it doesnt even take a big one to end it.

“He also said that Iran warned that oil shipments through the strategic Strait of Hormuz will be in jeopardy if a war breaks out between Iran and the United States.”

I’ve read that Iran has 30-70 thousand mines ready to deploy. There are two ways of disposing of mines. You can sweep for them or hunt for them. Both are slow and only give you some probability that you’ve destroyed the mines. In actuality, some will still be there. The only way to keep the straights open is to destroy the mines while they are still in their warehouses. I can’t see Obama authorizing such a bombing.

Incidentally, the Navy has moved virtually all of its mine sweeping and hunting capability to the area. But sweepers and hunters can only work if the Iranian side of the straight has been neutralized. Otherwise, the sweepers and hunters will be killed in short order.

If the straights are closed, sure the cost of gas will go up, but nobody here will starve. In the rest of the world starvation will be the norm. That, in my opinion, is why America has been keeping the lid on the middle east for the last 50 years.

He’s not exactly right - 1/6th of Iran (”Persia”) will remain. Israel will be fine. In fact Israel will have seven years of employment burying their dead enemies after the massacre.

They are good at the terrorist game but horrendous at the military one. As the worlds biggest state-sponsored terrorist govgernment I would almost welcome a conflict where I know they will get their terror sponsoring arse handed to them and be lucky to be alive after.

A message for General Mohammad Ali Jafari:

Don't talk smack to a nation that has ALREADY built a decisive nuclear arsenal.

Hey raghead, Israel lives as much in America as in Israel.

What makes you think, even if we do nothing in retaliation for your murderous act, that American Jews would not rally and go re-inhabit their land?

What makes you think that you can take US out as well to prevent that?

Every king that goeth to war must first count the cost ... you old camel humpin' fart.

The only thing good I ever got from oreilly is the word and concept of .. bloviate

Yeah, yeah little buddy Iran commander... Remember your “buddy” Saddam Hussein and his guys? Yeah, those dead men? They said the same thing about what would happen if the USA took military action against them. Where are they now? Dead. And we are supposed to not laugh when you blotivate like this?

On the slightest provocation, we need to wipe out Iran’s strategic nuclear assets, as well as the bulk of its convention military assets, using a mix of cruise missiles, deep penetration aircraft, (off-shore) conventional forces, and covert agents. The idea is to do the deed all at once, before world opinion gets mobilized to stop it. The opposite idea is incrementalism. An example would be an attack on Kuwait, a “Major Non-NATO Ally,” which Iran has threatened. We don’t need no stinkin’ UN resolution to respond to an attack on an ally.

Iran commander: 'Nothing will remain' of Israel if it takes military action

From your lips, baby, to God's ears. This will have been one of the greatest of ironical statements. Too bad he won't be around to appreciate it.

Too bad the so called moderate faction of the Iranian people won’t depose these insane leaders. You would think they would know the consequences.

The top commander in Iran’s powerful Revolutionary Guard

I gotta laugh. It took this powerful guard 10 years to fight Iraq too a draw.

Why we don’t arm the opposition there is a question I’d like someone to answer.
