The Jews have always prided themselves on being educated and cultured. And when they lived in the big cities of Western Europe, many of their best friends and staunchest defenders were intellectuals.

Not entirely true, as in the dark ages the creators and perpetrators of anti-semitism were the intellectuals, but for the most recent ~500 years it was the intellectuals who protected the Jews.

A significant part of it is that Jews view themselves and want to be associated with those who are smart. The MSM has for the last 70 years tried to associate the Democratic Party with smart people.

I may be able to accept the premise that Jews vote Dem because they fear Christians without distinction if this was September 10th 2001. But there is no excuse for that thinking at this point in time. Christians and Jews have A LOT in common especially when facing an enemy like fanatical islamists that are hell bent in destroying us all. A case in point, my southern Baptist Church has had amazing Jewish guest speakers and every single seat is always filled.
