Armada of British naval power massing in the Gulf as Israel prepares an Iran strike
The Telegraph ^ | 15 Sep 2012 | Sean Rayment

An armada of US and British naval power is massing in the Persian Gulf in the belief that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s covert nuclear weapons programme. Battleships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers and submarines from 25 nations are converging on the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in an unprecedented show of force as Israel and Iran move towards the brink of war.

Western leaders are convinced that Iran will retaliate to any attack by attempting to mine or blockade the shipping lane through which passes around 18 million barrels of oil every day, approximately 35 per cent of the world’s petroleum traded by sea.

A blockade would have a catastrophic effect on the fragile economies of Britain, Europe the United States and Japan, all of which rely heavily on oil and gas supplies from the Gulf.

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world’s most congested international waterways. It is only 21 miles wide at its narrowest point and is bordered by the Iranian coast to the north and the United Arab Emirates to the south.

In preparation for any pre-emptive or retaliatory action by Iran, warships from more than 25 countries, including the United States, Britain, France, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, will today begin an annual 12-day exercise.

Many within the Obama administration believe that Israel will launch a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities before the US presidential elections, an act which would signal the failure of one of Washington’s key foreign policy objectives. .........................Obama will betray Israel if it happens.

I’d say the ships are there to stop an Isreali attack.

Obama is there to stop them mining the strait. Nothing more. He won’t help Israel unless it gives him some advantage in the election.

Are they there to limit Iran’s reaction, or stop Israel’s attack?

I doubt that Obama would let his soul brother be blockaded. If this is happening, it’s England and not us.

Both ANWR and the Keystone Pipeline would be operational by now, but for Democrats.

Battleships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers and submarines from 25 nations...

They buried the lead. Someone still has battleships?

A betrayal of Israel would be Right in line with the O’Bumblers' epic fail on all things.

What happens to those ships if Israel’s attack is with an EMP?

Another poorly researched example of the journalistic art.

We'll see--the ships have incredible electromagnetic hardening. Part of it is necessary to deal with fleet radar.

Who still has active “battleships”?
I don’t think England still has its last aircraft carrier. Thought it was rented out to India or Upper Slobovia.
I do appreciate Luxembourg’s reconnaissance yacht from their America’s Cup yacht club.

Also appreciate Bahrain’s rubber ducky. Good for morale (if your name is “Bert or Ernie”).

Time to nuke Iran and get it over with. Good targets - Natanz nuclear facility and all others known or suspected sites.
The holy city of Qom, the site of the Mad Mullahs and their psychopath plans for world dominance.

Republican Guard headquarters in downtown Teheran. Remember the films of our cruise missiles turning corners in downtown Baghdad to get Saddam’s C3 buildings? “Knock, knock”. Who’s there? Land shark”. Kaboom

Iranian mosquito fleet navy. One nuke or a couple daisy cutters and they are fish food.

Iran’s missile forces. One nuke exploded over the area will generate an EMP that will put them out of action. Whatever they shoot up will come right back down on them and go BOOM!

“I love the glow of plutonium in the morning”.

Shit, we don’t have any napalm any more so the best we can do for “crispy critter time” is a nuke or two.

If Achmedgenocide and his little Hitlers want to play war, then they must play by our rules - “Kill all the bastards and let God (or Satan) sort them out.”

I’m tired of our gutless President, JCS, and the military advisors who are politically correct aholes more interested in putting women on submarines than destroying our enemies.

Time to take off the velvet gloves and put on some real steel gaunlets with spikes.
