Today I went out into the field here in Chicago looking to talk to some of the striking teachers but no one in a red-shirt was anywhere to be found (or, if they were wearing one, they had nothing to do with the teachers union strike). A journalist friend of mine asked me to nose around and see if I could uncover anything about slain Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was rumored to be gay. A former roommate of Stevens by the name of Austin Tichenor lives and works in Chicago and while making calls to friends of mine in the theater world who know him I also thought to check some sources with the city who deal with the State Department and foreign dignitaries when they are in town.
Of course, theyve all been talking about Ambassador Stevens murder by Muslims in Libya: and all of them are incredulous that the State Department sent a gay man to be ambassador to a Muslim country. News reports continue to indicate that the Muslims who murdered Stevens also raped him repeatedly, before and after his death.

Women are non-consequential in Muslim countries and not just by the poor and ignorant.
Sending women as diplomats to these countries is a futile effort to educate or modify their culture and in many cases is considered an insult.
Remember how Saddam Hussein treated the diplomacy of our female ambassador over the Kuwait issue before he invaded?
Having Hillary Clinton make a half-hearted speech of conciliation on the current riots is probably received with contempt for a weak America.

The American people still believe in HRC even though her party declined to nominate her in 2008. Tens of millions think she is the “greatest.” The American people just can’t understand.
“I don’t know if the rumors about Stevens are true or not, but if they are, it makes me think of Pericles’ funeral oration in Thucydides where he is praising the Athenian fighting men who died in the first year of the war.
‘Even if some had their faults, it is right that the courage to fight and die for their country should outweigh them: they have erased harm by good, and the collective benefit they have conferred is greater than any damage done as individuals.’
“Ambassador Stevens gave his life serving his country in a dangerous situation. That should count for much more than any possible personal failings.”
One difference between the men Pericles spoke of and the Ambassador is that we know the Athenians died fighting, if we accept Pericles. There is no indication that the Ambassador was armed or even allowed his group to be armed, much less that they died fighting. It seems quite unlikely that they did. Certainly no evidence was shown, such as wounded or dead Libyans or bullet holes or piles of empty US shell casings. That in itself would be shameful and unmanly.
Herodotus mentions in his account of the battle of Plataea (479 B.C.) a Greek named Callicrates who was killed by an arrow just before the battle started (when the Greek leader was offering the sacrifices for the battle). As he was dying he said he did not mind dying for Greece--what bothered him was that he did not see any action.
In the graphic comic (and I believe also the movie) Persepolis, Marjan Satrapi relates the story of how a friend/acquaintance of hers ended up in prison, was condemned to death, but first had to “marry” her jailer.
LOL - we’re soooooo bad...
The Ambassador apparently did see action, though, and was not prepared.
However, even Admiral Kimmel and General Short would likely have been honored at Pearl Harbor, had they been killed, even in their beds. That I grant you.
OMG!! I had not heard that before!!! ANIMALS....they are ANIMALS!
Perhaps this will put a restraint on “gay pride” social events at our US embassies in muslim countries

“I have noticed the liberal people tend to have a sense of entitlement”
**********
I’ve supervised and worked around liberals for a long time and you’re right, a common thread amongst them is an air of entitlement as in: “I have a degree from a fancy school and therefore I’m brilliant so don’t expect me to get down in the trenches with everybody else.” On the other hand, their “superior” nature allows them to excel at fault finding, second guessing and complaining.
Yes, 'marry; - that's the term...
The murdered ambassador appears to be a very unattractive person at many levels. Ironically he got exactly what he and others in the US government engineered for Qaddafi. None of that really matters though.
No matter how reprehensible he may or may not have been, he was a representative of the United States. His status as an American emissary is what matters in our response, not his deficient or even malignant character. This wasn’t done to him because he was a reprobate individual; this was done to him because he was a representative and symbol of the United States.
The perpetrators must be made into examples of ‘don’t let this happen to you’.
It is not possible to separate the two in many places. America is viewed as a bastion of sin, the Great Satan.
To send a blatant sinner, acknowledged and known homosexual is to invite his death. Your statement about his involvement as reprobate is merely more reason to kill him. He becomes and example of what happens to a representative of a country that sends such sinners as their representative. That is merely icing on the Anti-America cake.
I don’t disagree with you that such provocative appointments are - as intended - provocations. The fact remains that however bad the representative may be, in their official capacity they -do- represent us. The State Department needs debriding, disinfecting and reduction and has for many decades. That does not change the fact that this poorly chosen ambassador from this poorly chosen administration must be avenged, not because of his quality but because of his status.

April Catherine Glaspie (born April 26, 1942) is a former American diplomat and senior member of the Foreign Service, best known for her role in the events leading up to the Persian Gulf War of 1991. ... Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt write in the January/February 2003 edition of Foreign Policy that Saddam approached the U.S. to find out how it would react to an invasion into Kuwait. Along with Glaspie's comment that "'[W]e have no opinion on the ArabArab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait.' The U.S. State Department had earlier told Saddam that Washington had 'no special defense or security commitments to Kuwait.' The United States may not have intended to give Iraq a green light, but that is effectively what it did."
,watch this video of Mccain Grahmnesty, Lieberman and Collins in Tripoli schmoozing with Qaddafi - 20 months before they all became righteous about killing him. Qaddafi shakes hands with McCain, a Jew and a homosexual - but ignores Suzie Collins, who later drops him a cute little curtsey (:29 in the video)
