US police have visited the home of a California resident who admitted involvement in the film which sparked anti-US riots in the Arab world. Nakoula Basseley Nakoula, 55, of Cerritos, California, is said to be a Coptic Christian of Egyptian origin... ...However, court documents related to a criminal prosecution in 2010 show him using aliases including Nicola Bacily, Robert Bacily and Erwin Salameh. He plead no contest to federal bank fraud charges in California. US prosecutors said he set up fraudulent bank accounts using stolen identifies and Social Security numbers. In addition to restitution and 21 months in federal prison, Mr Nakoula was ordered not to use computers or the internet for five years without approval from his probation officer, AP reported.

Same here. It's very amateurish and in places somewhat amusing (at least to me). It is not nearly as offensive as Piss Christ was to Christians. I think they are just using the video as cover for an AQ operation against US embassies.

Are you kidding, the acting was bad, the costumes were cheesy, the dialog was poorly written and the sets were horrible. I kept looking for Tom Servo down in the lower right hand corner. Fur Shur the moslems haven't been watching the film, but the Egyptian government knows very well who this guy is and they want him in jail. They'll probably contract with some Nation of Islam prisoner to kill him.

As I recall a guy named Jughashvili joined with other rebellious types in robbing Russian banks to pay for their planned uprising against the Czarist government.

Today's rebels are more sophisticated ~ they use wire fraud to further their aims.

I don't think there's any doubt that he's a Copt although i looked through the pictures on the net and did not see the tell-tale cross in the middle of the forehead that usually identifies them in areas where moslems are a problem. Sometimes the tat will be on a wrist, an ankle, upper arm, back ~ i know of several with the middle of the forehead tat though.

The movie itself is not all that scurillous ~ just your basic mohammad story brought to life ~ with selected parts though ~ like robbing people, messing with kids, etc. These things are all in the literature so none of it should surprise anyone.

Again, the Coptic New Year occured on September 11 this year ~ and the rioting was planned to disrupt that celebration!
