The conventional wisdom emerged in Washington almost immediately on Wednesday: Mitt Romney's handling of the violence in Egypt and Libya was a disaster.
"The comments were a big mistake, and the decision to double down on them was an even bigger mistake," Steve Schmidt, senior campaign strategist to Sen. John McCain's 2008 presidential campaign, told CBS News. "There are legitimate criticisms to be made but you foreclose on your ability to make them when you try to score easy political points. And the American people, when the country is attacked, whether they're a Republican or Democrat or independent, want to see leaders who have measured responses, not leaders whose first instinct is to try to score political points."
What?????
Steve Schmidt is the most effective operative the Democrats have.
you forgot the Brookings Institute quoted as well...the funny thing is they use Schmidt as a source then later go with this paragraph: “The seeming mishandling of the situation prompted comparisons to McCain’s handling of the financial meltdown in September 2008, which is widely seen as having contributed to Mr. Obama’s victory that November. One top adviser to McCain’s 2008 run told CBS News that while the Romney campaign should be concerned, the situations are fundamentally different.”...classic criminal liberal media spin....
Mitt Romney yet to receive security briefings

Steve Schmidt is a P O S .......
Childish I know, but it makes me feel better.
Posted this at CBS too:
Romney should say:
My only regret is that we have a President whos first instinct is to apologize for something America didnt do.
Such behavior is a sign of weakness that only invites the type of violence we have witnessed.
They were, and still are, in the tank for Stalin and all his purges, robberies and mass murders.
It is hard to manifest one’s displeasure at their lies and leftist democrat political spin. Maybe a secondary boycott of the local TV stations might get their attention....don’t patronize the local merchants who carry the Network News.
This is but a foretaste of the unceasing, blind-with-hatred criticism that the media will sling at President Romney for unseating their messiah and spoiling his commie plans. It will make their treatment of Bush seem like a romance.
MSM is totally controlled by liberals.
“I hope cheap mideastern glass is for sale soon..”
You mean the kind that glows in the dark?
Romney didn’t botch it. The media is covering up Obama’s gross incompetence and lack of concern. One man acted presidential, and one didn’t. The latter would be Obama, and all the media circling of wagons won’t save the foolish good-for-nothing.
that is a really cool little movie with the CBS logo....
soon we will see polls, confirming the narrative. First they tell the story, then they quiz (poll) the sheeple, who want to get it right after all, then they put out the results. In this way fantasy becomes historical fact.
Hard to beat this combination of criminal intent and resources to execute.
I now have two reasons to vote based on Romney’s speech. #1, he got it right and clearly showed he understands foreign affairs much better than the community organizer ever did (now proven in blood) and #2, I’m voting against Obama.
They really need to prosecute every liberal fascist in the US.
>> MSM is totally controlled by liberals.
No, we’re talking about Leftists.
Not at all.....no fumble no botched.....
That's my feeling too. It's either him or us.
