...Romney is a decent business manager. Hes a decent man. He likes America. He wants America to like him. Hes not going to actively dismantle our way of life, as will the one now in power. There will be no attacks on freedom of religion, no wild power grabs for the Internet, no executive orders that violate the laws of the land. He will not hanker for more flexibility so he can give more to Putin. And this is petty but important for how the world sees us he will neither apologize nor bow to foreign leaders.
Is he perfect? Oh, goodness, no. Is he exactly what we need? Probably not. Who is? Do you know the trouble weve got ourselves into by trusting presidents for this long? Its a big hole. No one man can get us out of it. Only we can. And it will take time.
But thats fine. He wont be anointed by any gods. There will be no halos and no Greek columns. Instead, hell be the elected by the people and the people the sovereign people of this free land who are now awake will stand ready to make sure he knows it.
Perhaps we will once more save our democratic republic for another generation. Perhaps well turn the tiller and start the long way back from deep blue statism.
In the end, as someone said, perhaps were the ones weve been waiting for. No hero will ride to the rescue we will.
Were Americans. We dont need emperors. (If thats what you want, to quote Romney, you must vote for the other guy.) We dont want lords and masters. Were free and at last aware that we must work to stay that way.

So you want a President that leaves Obamacare and the financial reform, as well as all the current executive orders in place? That is doing nothing.
As opposed to what? What are the options? Either Obama or Romney will be president on January 20th, 2013.
Ugh... are you serious? Do I need to spell everything out? Of course repeal all the government growth Obama has put in place. Which in turn makes government do nothing (or much much less).
I was responding to the sentiment that we want a president who does nothing.
That is not the definition of “do nothing”.
Yep. Basically I wanted Romney to get in the office and actually “do nothing”. I wanted him to sit in the oval office, playing video games. I wanted Ryan to stand in his office and throw darts at a dartboard. That is exactly what I wanted them to do.
Well... I guess that is still doing something according to you. So I apologize.
What if each of us worked in the spirit of Ronald Reagan? One thing for sure - the Obama administration and their lapdogs in the media would have a cow.
Sorta like having the enemy surrounded and they don't know who to attack first.
That throws the selection among the three highest to the House. That's when it gets tricky. If by Inauguration day there's been no selection of a President, the sitting Speaker of the House (of the newly elected Congress, not the old Congress) becomes President.
Obviously Conservatives ~ both Socon and TEAParty can work this together to keep both the major party candidates out of the Presidency, and put in someone they want.
You don't have to be a member of the House to be elected Speaker either, so literally ANYONE could become Speaker of the House, and then President.
Get a grip. The odds of that happening are extremely remote, and something we would have no control over.
2 out of 43 ~ not exactly extremely remote!
I guess you nitwits can't clamor for a brokered convention any longer, so you're moving on to this.
Guess what? The GOP would control any election thrown into the House, as each state has one vote. So we would still get Romney in that scenario.
Romney has moved considerably to the right since he left office in Massachusetts; and I believe that we can continue to move him in that direction. (See Why & How--Romney/Ryan.)
Romney is Conservative on the fiscal issues; moderately Conservative on recognizing that the Federal Government is not the agency to be dictating on questions of health, safety & morals (concerns that remain State issues) and shows the genuine Conservative disdain for "Class Warfare." He is certainly, taken all in all, more Conservative than several of the alternative Republican choices, whom he bested in the Primaries.
We need to work for his election; even as we continue to try to influence his personal direction.

Speaking of nitwits, you appear to be unable to recall what you said just moments before ~ and so I gave you one of the options ~ which you, you hapless doufous, asked for.
Right there's an option ~ 2 faithless electors from a state that doesn't require them to vote for whoever. It's always been there ready to do its magic work. It's been done 2 other times! There's actually a 4.25% chance of it happening again given history.
So, dirtboy, go suck lemons for 15 minutes ~ then get back to me on this.
Go do some prayer and get some counseling ~ see if I care i your feelings are hurt.
You are about the only person I know who is a bigger ass than Hillary's backside. Get lost.
Odds are good that the new Congress will have more anti-Romney guys in it than the present one ~ could be touch and go, besides which there are those Democrats who get to vote in the state delegations. Maybe they don't like Romney and are disappointed in their boy, so they vote with a couple of Socons to put in a third person ~ I do believe there's every chance for a deadlock all the way to january 20, 2013 at which time the Constitution grinds on and turns the Speaker into the President.
This is the kind of event that leads to serious political realignments ~ and that depends solely on the interests of the politicians involved ~ not the shenanigans of the GOP-e. The pros and advisors become worth MUCH less than whale droppings once this clicks into place, which is why, if there's the slightest chance, there are plenty of fans for DOING IT
Obviously Conservatives ~ both Socon and TEAParty can work this together to keep both the major party candidates out of the Presidency, and put in someone they want.
This mechanism is as absurd as efforts by you and your cohorts to claim there was a workable way to block Romney from being nominated. Republicans would control an election thrown into the House. They will support their candidate, lest they give the Dems a chance to win in his place. Duh.
You seem to be impressed with your ability to come up with scenarios that, while possible on paper, have utterly no chance of working in the real world.
Normally, a trait associated with idiot liberals. You really should be careful who you are emulating. And even more careful when you attack those of us who prefer to operate in the real world.
Lest you remove any remaining doubt about just how stupid you are.
It is conceivable that disaffected TEAParty or Socon Representatives might vote with Democrats just to tie up the House until January 20, 2013 thereby freezing Obama and Romney out.
Remember, Romney is not a choice of the majority of Republicans anyway. He's a minority nominee.
Politics is politics boyo!
He sounds like a description of a “moderate classic conservative”, who is more “moderate” than “conservative”.
And by “classic conservative” I mean someone who is content with the status quo, who wants change in neither direction, and is willing to accept major problems because “He does not want to ‘make waves’”, by trying to alleviate them.
This is an essential flaw with “moderate” Republicans. They are only willing to fight defensively, and even then in a “spirit of compromise”, with what amounts to an intolerant and endlessly demanding political enemy.
As did Chamberlain to Hitler. Appeasement of the oppressive and intolerant does not work. As vile as their core values, they *have* core values, even if they conceal them, and they reject “going along to get along.” They see such cooperative types as suckers, and they are right.
Unfortunately, right now America needs major changes in two directions: a return to fiscal stability and correcting the horrific financial catastrophe left behind by his predecessors; and to dismantle much of the police state gifted to us by W. Bush, who confused the enemy “over there” with American citizens “over here”, putting as much emphasis on oppressing us as smiting our enemies.
“Moderation” and “classic conservatism” just do not cut it right now, so the best we can hope for from Romney, and the surviving RINOs in congress and the senate is to “get the HELL out of the way and let real conservatives fix what needs fixing, without
We don’t need a savior - we need to get obama OUT!
He is now the GOP nominee. He was not kicked out of the convention without getting nominated, despite all of your idiotic fantasies that such could happen. He would not be rejected by Republicans in the House if the election ended up there.
So you may have the last word, there is a very serious news story going on now that clearly shows a significant difference between Romney and Obama. One of them will be the next president.
