Romney is No Savior, and That's the Point
PJ Media ^ | September 12, 2012 | Sarah Hoyt

...Romney is a decent business manager. He’s a decent man. He likes America. He wants America to like him. He’s not going to actively dismantle our way of life, as will the one now in power. There will be no attacks on freedom of religion, no wild power grabs for the Internet, no executive orders that violate the laws of the land. He will not hanker for more “flexibility” so he can give more to Putin. And — this is petty but important for how the world sees us — he will neither apologize nor bow to foreign leaders.

Is he perfect? Oh, goodness, no. Is he exactly what we need? Probably not. Who is? Do you know the trouble we’ve got ourselves into by trusting presidents for this long? It’s a big hole. No one man can get us out of it. Only we can. And it will take time.

But that’s fine. He won’t be anointed by any gods. There will be no halos and no Greek columns. Instead, he’ll be the elected by the people and the people — the sovereign people of this free land — who are now awake will stand ready to make sure he knows it.

Perhaps we will once more save our democratic republic for another generation. Perhaps we’ll turn the tiller and start the long way back from deep blue statism.

In the end, as someone said, perhaps we’re the ones we’ve been waiting for. No hero will ride to the rescue — we will.

We’re Americans. We don’t need emperors. (If that’s what you want, to quote Romney, “you must vote for the other guy.”) We don’t want lords and masters. We’re free and at last aware that we must work to stay that way.

A decent man is pro-active on Life.

I’m looking for a Mormon on this list (so far no luck)

Is Barack Hussein Obama still snubbing Israel and praising the “peace lovers” in his Libya and Egypt?

So, you’ve fallen in a hole and broken your leg, when some pedestrian comes along and offers to help get you out of the hole.

And your response is, “Hey, you’re not a licensed EMT! Get out of here!”

I have said this multiple times. Both sides look for a President to do this and do that. We need a President who basically does nothing and allows us to do the work.

The best government is that which governs least, as they used to say. And Calvin Coolidge used to say that it is more important to prevent bad legislation than to pass good legislation.

The problem with the standard statement in the article above is that you don't have to be much of an analyst to go through it and seriously question every single assertion.

That's not good ~ and I don't mean it's not good to go through it and analyze it, but the fact it is so easily deconstructed should have been highly disturbing to everyone.

At the same time this makes it exceedingly difficult for the Obama crowd to mount a campaign against him ~ like what can they say that's critical without admitting to it themselves?

Is there such thing as a savior, apart from Christ? Was Ronald Reagan? Was Churchill? Roosevelt? So, what’s this talk about a savior about, then?

This is the way I look at it -

the economy and financial system WILL CRASH. There is no “saving” it.

Now, who do you want in power when it does? A capitalist with a basic, though flawed, Judeo-Christian based worldview,

or a Marxist Muslim who despises Judeo-Christian culture and seeks its destruction.

No. We need a President that will do something and that something is to get us back on track to following the Constitution. We need a President to constantly frame the debate that it is us that does things and not the government. We need a President that will not only constantly state that what the government is currently doing is unConstitutional but also work like hell to stop it from doing unConstitutional acts.

I'm stealing this for a facebook post. Exactly correct. This is what made Reagan such a good president. He mostly just stayed out of the way.

You are absolutely right and I would add that all his goons must be exposed and thrown out of every agency in DC as well and his cohorts voted out of the US House and Senate. The Dictator-in-Chief’s executive orders must be overturned ASAP and his DeathCare repealed. There is a Maxist Liberal RAT plague upon our land, IMO.

At the same time don’t let your acceptance of mediocrity blind you to what you’re really getting.

Wow.. That's the bumper sticker we need to win the election.

Romney, he's not what we need, but he's better than the putz we got

We are so doomed..

There is no perfect choice just as there is no good choice this time. This round is more like, “Vote for the bad choice over the horrendous choice”.
