Thank you, Jinxy. It sure will be hard on her...and everyone.

I haven’t heard anything yet. They were supposed to drive to
Albuquerque today.

I am.

I’ve trained myself not to laugh or smile. I watched a hundred hours of the Three Stooges; every time I felt like smiling or laughing, I jabbed myself in the stomach with a cattle prod.

Hugs :) (though I must admit that is highly out of character!)

Have you been monsooning?

We've been blessed with goo weather and fewer days over 90 than in summers past. Humidity has been oceanic a bit too often but, hey, it's summer!

Hi Kathy. ((HUGS)) back to you. Things in Cali are, on the home front, very very good. Laurie and I have reduced the number of people in our home by three - our daughter and her family finally found a home of their own. Our stress level has dropped to near zero.

Megan (our 13 year old granddaughter) is really shinning. She's doing well in 8th grade, helping out at home without being asked (laundry, folding laundry, dishes, garbage take-out, etc), and is a pure joy. She lets us know where she is, using her cell phone as needed.

Our oldest son is working in the Emergency Room at the hospital in Placerville as a Patient Care Assistant, while he is working on passing the EMT exam. He's working pretty much full-time now, and making pretty good money. Unfortunately, last weekend a 15 year old boy overdosed on some designer drug, and despite my son's attempts at CPR, he didn't survive. My son was pretty upset over that.

Bob is planning to go through Ranger training, and promote up to Sgt so that he can deploy to Afghanistan next summer. Laurie and I are not too thrilled with that - neither is his wife. She went through a week of testing so her doctor can try to pinpoint where her gran mal seizures originate in her brain. She had to stay at the hospital for around five days, wired up the entire time. There is additional testing being scheduled. The twin boys, and their little brother are all growing like weeds in that Hawaiian environment.

Madison, Megan's three year old sister, had surgery last week. She had her right leg and part of the foot opened up to the bone so doctors could move the leg bones into an exagerated position, shave off some bone in two places, and insert a pin. She'll be in a cast for another five weeks. I'm not sure what will happen after that. This was all done at Shriner's in Sacramento. We are hoping this surgery will correct the club foot, but I"m sure there will be further steps to come. Lilah, our oldest daughter's child (the ones who lived with us three years) is still a handful. She's four. She was suppose to begin attending at a special education pre-school program for children with significant developmental needs, but the school psychologist apparently told my daughter that they do not have any teachers who can work with that child. I think I will have to take a day off from work and inform the Chico School District that they do not have a legal basis for refusing this child services. That will be interesting.

Well, I hope I didn't blast you with too much there. LOL. But, that's the update. Oh, I almost forgot. On Labor Day I was riding my Honda Goldwing up in the mountains to meet a friend so we could go for a ride through Lassen Volcanic National Park, when a fawn ran in front of me and I hit it. I have no explanation for this, but neither I nor the motorcycle sustained any damage, and I kept the bike up on the wheels. However, the fawn didn't survive. At the very last moment the fawn crouched down low to the road and I went up and over it at the head/shoulder area. This seemed to happen in slow motion, and it was almost as if some force was pushing the fawn down so that I didn't hit it full on. If it had stayed upright the outcome would not have been pretty.

My goodness.....lots going on in your lives.

“Someone” was watching over you and your Goldwing.

Congratulations on regaining your home.

WOW! Megan is 13 already....how time flies. You and Megan get in any fishing?

Losing any patient is really rough...glad son is doing well.

Bob sounds like he is enjoying the Army...and Ranger school. That’s not easy.

Hope the docs can pinpoint where the seizures are coming from.

Hope Madison’s surgery turns out well.

Frankly, my dear, when I have to choose between a cattle prod and a hug, it’s a pretty easy choice.

:)

I've not been out fishing but twice this summer, back in June. There 's just not enough money to afford to go these days. We didn't go camping at all during this season. Besides, Megan's not much into fishing since she's become a teenager, and found the joy of an all boy band (One Direction). She and her best friend spend hours on the computer learning all they can, and listening to all their music.

Instead of going fishing, I've been going on PGR missions instead. And, going on a few motorcycle rides with my dad's best friend. We're coming up on six years since my dad's motorcycle accident (11/04/06).

Thanks for the ping LJ. I haven’t been posting lately due to some family illness. Just dropping in to say hi.
