The November elections are a Republican landslide begging to materialize, but will the GOP make it happen? I believe so. I'm not buying these negative polls, but to increase our chances, let's sharpen the message, not dilute it.
A recent Fox News story reports that Romney and Ryan are both beginning to emphasize a bipartisan message rather than sharpen the contrasts between Obama's manifest failures and their plan for America. They must not follow this suicidal path.
Now is not the time for them to go all John McCain on us and downplay what Obama has done or to apologize for their own winning message. In the campaign's homestretch, they must bring more passion and urgency. It's not enough to calmly assure the American people that they'll do better. They must convince them they believe with every fiber of their beings that the nation, as we know it, would not survive four more years of Obama's assault that unless Obama is defeated, their children will not enjoy the same America they have enjoyed.
Their message should be: Sure, President Obama inherited a tough economy. But enough already. He knew and stated how bad it was, and he promised that if we implemented his agenda, the economy and debt would vastly improve. He implemented his agenda, yet the economy is still doing terribly, and the debt is dramatically worse. He still refuses to accept responsibility for his failures. He has no new ideas and offers the same failed policies and promises nothing but prolonged malaise if he's re-elected. Under a second Obama term, we'd experience catastrophic financial collapse.
Romney/Ryan rejects the defeatist idea that economic malaise is inevitable. Historically, the worse the recession the stronger the recovery, except with Obama, who has given us the worst recovery in 50 years.

Romney needs to dump the yes men and start listening to the right wingers who dislike him. We won’t tell him what he wants to hear but we will tell him the truth.
.....and use it to skewer 0bama.
Romney CANNOT flinch. He has to be relentless.
I am pretty sure that Ryan is capable of keeping “O’s” feet to the fire.
However, Romney may likely revert to be the ‘old school’ Conservative ‘Mr. Niceguy’! That will NOT work!
We’re beyond that and Romney can’t expect any positive results by being considerate of “O” personally OR his lack of competence, etc.
Take off the gloves and duke it out! It IS called Politics, right?
I agree.
Romney faces a big problem if he does not fight.
FIGHT Romney.
If Wimpy continues his milquetoast ways I may not vote at all .
The Romney campaign is worse than John McCane’s in 2008. At least with McCane, Sarah Palin was was visible and bringing up the issues. While I live in South Dakota, a solidly red state, it borders Iowa and Minnesota so there should be some spill over ads in my media market and yet I see or hear nothing from the Romney camp. Romney who at times showed some fire in the belly during the primary debates appears stiff, wooden and lackluster. Even Ryan shows little of the fire and zeal I saw with Sarah Palin. What is wrong with this campaign? Romney should be cleaning up give the state of the economy and mood of the country. I fear November will be a replay of 2008.

The reason that we are in this mess in the first place is that Dems wage take-no-prisoners war and Republicans play by garden party rules. The Dems are out to destroy this country whether they realize it or no. Our lives are at stake. The Founding Fathers pledged “our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor”. It will take nothing less today. Marxist are a lot more dangerous and evil than GeorgeIII.
“I fear November will be a replay of 2008”
I think you are correct. At the primary polls this morning in NH I saw about a 3 to 1 ratio of dems to repubs... sad. I see no enthusiasm for Romney in NH
Obama sends you his love.
I have watched a few of Ryan’s stump speeches.
I cringe when he comes out with this line: ‘Obama is a nice guy. It is his policies that are bad.’
==
That sounds too much like the campaign John McCain tried to run, and we know how that failed.
Romney won the primaries because of how he fought against Gingrich and Santorum.
“Obama is a nice guy ... “ isn’t going to cut it.
“Romney needs to dump the yes men and start listening to the right wingers who dislike him. We wont tell him what he wants to hear but we will tell him the truth.”
You’ll vote for him if he does all those things you want him to do?.......I didn’t think so. You’ll be happier to see 0bama get another 4 years. Here’s a little suggestion for you Anybody-but-Romney folks: Don’t tell us how he should run his campaign. You want him to lose anyway. On Election Day, while you’re feeling pious for refusing to vote for the only viable chance of getting rid of the Marxist, the rest of us will be doing just that.
*siiiiiiighhhhh*
They just never. Ever. EVER learn, do they?
Short and sweet, Smarty. I am copying your comments and sending it to Romney. Hope you don’t mind.
I’m actually suggesting something to make him a better candidate.
You’re the genius using the same winning strategy of attacking all criticism that lost the race for McCain in 08.
A significant portion of Mittens' campaign brain trust, this time out, is comprised of bumblers and maladroits fresh from the epic exercise in failure and humiliation that was the McCain '08 (*snort*) "juggernaut"... so: no surprises, there. ;)
Of course... however it’s pretty sad if Romney doesn’t know this ALREADY, without our telling him!
