The book raises the question of whether Jesse Jackson Jr., the congressman son of the famed civil rights leader, plotted to arrange a pardon for Blagojevich from President Barack Obama.

The linked article is quite long. It seems to suggest that as President-elect, Obama may not have been completely forthcoming about his transition team's contacts with Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich. Not surprisingly, Obama's own internal investigation exonerated the incoming President and his top aides, including Rahm Emanuel. It also makes Congressman Jackson's recent medical leave of absence look somewhat suspicious. Lastly, one wonders if the Federal prosecutors opted to ignore following up on possible leads concerning Obama while making Blagojevich the scapegoat for all of the "pay for play politics" taking place in Illinois concerning the US Senate vacancy and more. Worth reading.

One thing that’s occurred to me is a recurrance of some northern straing of Arkancide, especially with JJ Jr. in a hospital where you know, sometimes meds get mixed up and all. If this were the Clintons, I’d suspect JJ Jr isn’t really bipolar at all but he’s being held in captivity somewhere until he agrees never to reveal what he knows. I’m not sure the Obama goons are that clever.

I learned during the Clinton years that many, if not most on the left only care about ‘winning’, pushing forth their personal agendas, and hurting/punishing those they resent (i.e. anyone who does better than them). They admire those on their side who can ‘get over’ on the system and not get caught. They admired that Clinton was teflon, and could have cared less if he had twenty interns he was having relations with in the White House, or if it was commonly known that he had offed someone they didn't like - as long as he didn't get caught.

I think that Jesse Jr. is in the hospital specifically so he cannot be interviewed in the run-up to the election by a reporter who may stray off the reservation. It’s a courtesy to him and his family as opposed to the other ways to quiet folks. Rod got the message the relatively easy way as well...

It reminds me of the former Soviet Union were many prominent political dissidents were placed in mental institutions (those who could not be murdered outright) for disagreeing with the party.

During Jackson’s lengthy hospitalization, his Congressional office released virtually no information on his medical condition or whereabouts for weeks on end. The news about his treatment took a long time to surface in the press.
