PHOENIX – Dorothy McGuire Williamson, who teamed with sisters Christine and Phyllis for a string of hits in the 50s and 60s as the popular McGuire Sisters singing group, has died.

Williamson died Friday at her son's home in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley, daughter-in-law Karen Williamson said. She had Parkinson's disease and age-related dementia.

The McGuire Sisters earned six gold records for hits including 1954's "Sincerely" and 1957's "Sugartime." The sisters were known for their sweet harmonies and identical outfits and hairdos.

The Moonglows had the original version of Sincerely. The McGuire Sisters' version is available here.

One of my favorite McGuire Sisters songs is Ding Dong (1958).

This one’s a favorite of mine, too. The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B. I heard a lot of these songs when I was a little boy.

The McGuire Sisters are so fun to listen to, and Somethings Gotta Give repays the effort ever time.

That’s not her.....she was the singer, not the actress.

I was about a few years late for them, but have come to enjoy their vocals and harmony.

Bugle Boy is classic.

The McGuire Sisters didn't have a hit with "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy." The Andrews Sisters did.

The two acts dominated different decades.

The Andrews Sisters' string of hits lasted into the 1950's.

Why do so many entertainers destroy their looks with plastic surgery? It's not that they don't have examples in the ruined faces of those who have gone before them.

From right to left, this photo actually looks like the stages the sisters went through to end up looking like the Lion-Faced Lady, Jocelyn Wildenstein, whose ravaged face still remains on the internet as the ultimate example of cosmetic desperation gone wild.

BTW, still living are sisters Christine, age 86, and Phyllis, age 81. They were originally from Ohio.
