I was somewhat disappointed in the clips of the show that I saw. He does explain that polygamy is not officially countenanced by the LDS today, but he did not do a very good job of explaining why they allowed it in the first place, nor the reasoning behind stopping the practice.
Beck can save his efforts. Ryan has my vote sewn up.
Mormonism has enough fantasies, from God being married to blacks being excluded from the priesthood that is not even part of the NT church, that men like Beck can only engage in damage control when exposed.
It owes what virtue it has to the Bible, which the LDS exalts its own writings and authority over.

Back when I used to listen to Beck, he would go into one of his defensive, yelling tirades if a caller was less than complimentary of Mormonism; inevitably he would hang up on the person. So, what.....does he expect everyone is going to love it now?

I personally couldn’t care less if he believed in purple monsters from Venus. The fact that he has some faith in a higher power, something other than a self-centered belief such as atheists have, is fine by me.
What I don’t get or approve of is Mormons, which have a history and beliefs far more like Islam, trying to claim they are Christian when they do not believe in Christ.
