In 1843 Frederic Chopin turned out another trio of fine mazurkas. The first is sweet natured and a bit shy.

Chopin: Mazurka in B, Op. 56/1

The second is more extroverted.

Chopin: Mazurka in C, Op. 56/2

The third begins darkly, but turns sunny in the middle. It ends quietly.

Chopin: Mazurka in C minor, Op. 56/3

In 1843 Frederic Chopin wrote an unusual piece, almost a passacaglia. The theme is only four bars long, and the left hand never changes. But the right hand varies those same four bars constantly. A berceuse is a lullaby, so just close your eyes and let it flow.

Chopin: Berceuse in D-flat, Op. 57

The next year, Fred’s health would turn for the worse, his relationship with George Sand would sour, and his output would slow. There would be one more glory year, 1846, before night fell on Chopin. But that’s for next week.

You are so right and this is the reason we do what we do....so our troops can have that moment. Thank you so much for helping provide those moments. ((HUGS))

You’re welcome, LV.

That station wagon looks good compared to the automobiles that are in present-day Cuba. They drive jalopies from the early 50s or even 40s.
