Leads Romney 48% to 45%"

President Barack Obama's job approval climbed to 52 percent in the Gallup poll for the three-day period of Sept. 4 through Sept. 6, which is the highest Obama's approval has been since the three-day period ending June 1, 2011, when it hit 53 percent.
On Sept. 3, the day before the Democratic National Convention started, Obama's approval had been just 45%.
At the same time, Obama picked up ground over Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney. Last week, according to the Gallup tracking poll of the presidential race, Romney actually lost a point over the course of the Republican National Convention. Romney went from leading Obama 47 percent to 46 percent for the seven-day period that ended on on Aug. 27 to trailing Obama 46 percent to 47 percent for the seven-day period that ended on Sept. 3.
Since Sept. 3, Obama has picked up another point in the Gallup poll while Romney has lost one. Thus, for the seven-day period ending on Sept. 6, Obama led Romney 48 percent to 45 percent.

Unfortunately I think you are right. And having seen some of the new ads Romney is using to “carpet bomb”, I think Romney is still not being aggressive enough.
He should be taking Obama’s horrible record and smashing him over the head with it!! Where is the transposing of Obama’s promises vs. reality? Where is the “If I don’t deliver then this is a one term proposition”? Where is the $16 TT debt bomb? I want to see the debt clock rolling up on top of video with Obama’s empty, broken promises in the background! Where is the credit rating downgrade?
I agree with the media buy, but the message is way too soft - Romney should be destroying Obama and over 5 points ahead!!

Anyone that answered the phone is polled in this crap. A high school girl that wishes to be lady gaga could say, “like I really love obama... he's like way cool. He is doing a great job"... or an illegal mexican invader or perhaps a Somalian refugee or any of the 94% of blacks that will vote for him... like I said... any voice answering the phone is in this poll... and most will NEVER CAST A VOTE! **** gallup... this destroys their reputation... they are being coerced into this garbage and they do not have the balls or legal team to stand up to the new black panther party leader... eric holder.

I just pretty much felt all the DNC prime time speeches had the right balance between defining their candidate and defining the opposition. The RNC seemed to steer clear of trying to define Obama much at all. That’s why Eastwood’s speech stuck out like a sore thumb, but it actually would have fit right in at the DNC if they had him talking about Bush or Romney there.
I don’t know if I’ve met any swing voters like you describe. In Pennsylvania we have the two traditional kinds of swing voters, the blue-collar ones who like God and guns but also hate the rich and want them taxed to the hilt, and the white-collar ones who want low taxes but hate the Christian right. The only ones I’ve seen have any kind of affection for Obama are the real lefties who will never switch their vote.
The swing voters we have are persuadable by all that stuff that really doesn’t matter, like attack ads and likability. They’re too divided on the issues to make their decision based on the issues. The candidate who ends up looking the most likable or trustworthy is probably going to get their vote. Which is why Obama really needs to be attacked and torn down. Which is not to say Romney doesn’t need to humanized, but you need to do both. You’ll never get Romney up to Obama’s level on likability only by moving Romney up. Obama also has to be moved down.
The trust angle is probably one of the best to attack Obama on. Here we have 4 years of Obama’s record to look at and find gaps between what he promised and what he delivered, yet the Dems were able to make Romney and Ryan sound more untrustworthy than we made Obama sound based solely on a few lines Romney and Ryan have said on the stump. That shows a really pathetic effort on the GOP’s part.
We can also show he can’t be trusted to manage the debt, based on all of his solutions adding to it, and merely kicking financial problems down the road. And this angle can be used to point to his basic competence as well. The only solutions he can come up with are throwing money at problems. The attacks don’t need to be all that personal in an emotional way. They can be related to job performance. And no one needs to feel regretful of how they voted, because no one was sure how he’d perform until he got into office.
They have those even if there are only two males in the restroom.
There wasn't one speaker that denounced Obama's blanket illegal alien amnesty by fiat. Not one who blasted his illegal non-recess appointments.
This should be Obama’s high water mark.
I got a call that came up blocked and they asked me if I planned to “help defeat Romney this November” and stated it was some type of poll. Kind of asked in a tricky way if you weren’t listening closely. I said No, I was planning on voting FOR Romney. A few more questions of the same type were asked, and then “Goodbye”. The weird thing was it was my cell, I had just recently changed my number, and the phone was registered in my husbands name, but they knew my name.
The DoJ sued Gallup and whaddaya know...

What a bunch of bull.
First, it’s a national poll so it doesn’t matter. The President is selected by the ELECTORAL COLLEGE. Look at that lineup and ignore this noise. A candidate can win the popular vote and still lose in the electoral college. It happened in 2000.
Second, it’s registered, not likely voters. When you expect high turnout that’s not so bad, but when you have a typical election where most people aren’t so enthused (like this one), likely voters matters.
Third, it’s Gallup and a leftwing puke organization.
Fourth, it’s not October so the October surprises haven’t hit yet.
Finally, it’s too early in the cycle. Give it a week, maybe two and look at the state level polls (preferably Rasmussen) and you’ll have a pretty good idea of where this is going.

Full disclosure: I dislike willard and will vote second party in November. But I really, really hate leftist propaganda. And this poll qualifies.
A post convention bounce had to be expected with all of the media saturation and fawning. I’m just hoping it’s a dead cat bounce.
I’m still worried about voter fraud.
I believe that the polls are being cooked so that when the votes are cooked they will match. If the polls were honest, there would be a huge uproar on election day if there were suspicious dead voters that gave Zippy a win despite polls that said there would be a Romney landslide.
They have to make it look credible.
So I’m predicting Romney/Ryan in a landslide, but I am still worried.
October Surprise? Roger That. After all the time Obongo spent building up his foreign policy creds (the only place where he outpolls Romney on issues), don’t be surprised to see an international incident cooked up somewhere in the Middle East for him to rde in and save the day.
