No, you lie.
I’d take anything KOMU says with a ton of salt.
Come on....
Theo is right.
If you are going to quote, quote correctly.
It seems you haven’t taken the time to read EXACTLY what Akin said:
“It seems to me, from what I understand from doctors, thats really rare. If its a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But lets assume that maybe that didnt work or something: I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be of the rapist, and not attacking the child.”
Note that he was saying that DOCTORS have said that pregnancies resulting from violent rape (as opposed to fake claims of rape) are RARE.
That is TRUE, Jonty30. For decades a variety of doctors have said that.
You said that Akin said that “raped women dont get pregnant.” No, that is a lie. Akin said that doctors have said that pregnancies resulting from violent rape are RARE.
Get your facts straight before you start misrepresenting a conservative republican.
I believe Akin was going to drop out but was convinced to stay in the race by Huckabee and other politically-connected evangelical leaders. You have to assume that part of that conversation was a committment to finance his race, given his disadvantages. What I’m wondering is, where’s the cash?
I think he has until Sept 25 to withdraw. McCaskill is going easy on him sticking to positive ads about herself until Sept 25 when all of her ads are going to be negative on him. I think he blew himself with his rape comments and the RNC can play chicken with him and not give him any money to try to get him out by the deadline so they can get a candidate who can win.If he does not withdraw, the RNC should not give McCaskill a free ride and they should start funding him to run negative ads vs McCaskill so long as he agrees not to tie himself to the national ticket in the ads. They do not need the lead weight.IMHO
Candidates who have been outspent have won before. I don't think you realize how weak a candidate McCaskill is. If conservatives and Tea Party people get behind Mr. Akin and raise money for him and volunteer for him he has a chance. Many people simply won't vote for McCaskill under any circumstances.
The big unknown is can Mr. Akin start running an intelligent, effective campaign.
Most of his funding came from dems anyway.
He's too busy funding Rove's Crossroads GPS.
Yes, he apologized, but such apology in politics doesn't mean anything if he harmed the cause.
Akin is the ultimate RINO. Beat out the other candidates by taking $2 million from Dems. His biggest support is by a guy who the left lionized earlier as the man who would destroy conservative media.
That's a lie --
Which is in 18 more days and 15 more minutes. Deadline is 5 p.m. on the 6th Tuesday prior to election day.
Priebus has already said that no way no how is Aiken getting a dollar of the party's money. So unless a couple of super-pacs can be rounded up then Aiken is on his own.
It is still an easy pick-up if the RNC and Rove’s PAC gives him back the funding they were going to provide. If the seat is lost, it’s entirely their fault, not Akin’s. His gaffe was nothing so serious that it would cause him to lose a Senate race.
Are you referring to Akin or Rove with that comment???
Stop spreading lies. He never said they “don’t” get pregnant, he said “as he understands it,” it’s rare. There are articles, research and statistics that back that claim up too.
Past history would say 'probably not'. Aiken is a walking, talking sound-bite for his opponents. In the past his verbal gaffs haven't harmed him in his races in an overwhelmingly conservative district. But McCaskill was running ads based on Aiken quotes before the rape comment. There is no reason to doubt that Aiken will provide her with more quotes over the remainder of the campaign.
With a 97.24 ACU rating??? Who are you kidding???
Beat out the other candidates by taking $2 million from Dems.

That's a lie -- his biggest support are his constituency who he has faithfully served as a conservative Congressman.
