Hes in a money crunch:
Todd Akins TV ads are, reportedly, being yanked from stations across the state because his campaign isnt paying the bills. KOMU-TV in Columbia says it received half of the payment for an ad buy, and when it didnt get the other half, it cancelled the rest of the ads. The station says its confirmed that other stations from St. Louis to Kansas City have been put in the same position.
McCaskill, meanwhile, is running positive ads about how moderate she is. I imagine the tone of the race will change markedly if Akin stays in past the deadline for him to get out.
debunked, propaganda
That would be Tuesday, September 11th, if I remember the week count correctly from the Missouri election law.
Explain, please.
The GOP bigwig RINO’s have put out the word to big donors not to support Akin. The RINO’s always like to see Dems beating conservatives.
Scratch that. I think it is the “Friday before”... so it might be today.
“I assumed that Huckabee and his allies would be putting in the funding necessary to keep Akin in the race.”
I assumed George Soros would be putting in the funding necessary to keep Akin in the race.
Since Aiken OBVIOUSLY isn’t dropping out of the race, the GOP SHOULD be funding him. McCaskill is a menace and VULNERABLE.
It’s not because he’s a conservative.
It’s because of his idiot words about how raped women don’t get pregnant.
Sometimes I swear I have been hacked over to DU!
You would think that before he decided to remain the Republican candidate he would insure he had enough funds to actually conduct a campaign.
Evidently not.
Akin won a close 3 way primary because Democrats crossed over to support him.
The Democrats and the MSM went after Akin and got him to say dumb things.
The Republican establishment then went after Akin and attacked him and demanded he withdraw.
Akin stayed in the race. Now evidently he has to figure out how to finance his campaign.
I just don't think Mr. Akin is going to come up with any brilliant fund raising strategies.
I still hope Mr. Akin wins.
So you’re opposed to the conservative Republican, and in favor of McCaskill?
I agree. He may be a dope but he is our dope and the GOP should be supporting him big time. Like it or not.
I sent $50 but that is all I can do.
You lie. He never said that. Look at what Akin *actually* said.
I don’t know Akin from Adam and Cruz is my man, but sometimes we all need to stop and remember that politicians are not perfect and are just like us when it comes to opening mouth and switching off brain.
If the guy is really conservative, whether or not Tea Party of Sarah backed him, we need to help him beat the clearly not conservative dem!
Cutting off our noses to spite our face, is one of the reasons we ended up with nobama.
Hell no. I would vote for Akin or whoever is running against McCaskill, but I don’t live in Missouri. I just want to see McCaskill out of the Senate.
Akin "out of cash?" That's news to me. I'm not surprised RINOs and media-elite would promote this idea though.
Amazed that there’s anyone left on FR to defend this moron. Easy Senate pickup down the drain. It is surreal. We have a better chance of winning CT and MA than MO. Shoot me now.
Me too.
He may be an idiot, but he apologized for what he said, which is more than a lot of DemocRats have said in similar circumstances.
He should have had the decency to withdraw from the race so somebody better could replace him.
But he hasn’t.
Sometimes you have to hold your nose in politics, forget about being simon-pure and go for the lesser of two evils.
CLERLY Aiken is the lesser of two evils here. If we succeed in bouncing out that witch McCaskill and he hasn’t learned to keep his mouth shut until he THINKS before he speaks, we can flush him out in a primary next time.
But for now, HOLD your nose and support the guy - control of the Senate could lie in the balance.
I said in my post that I hope Mr. Akin wins. However, this appears to be a comedy of errors both by Mr. Akin and the Republican establishment.
Like I said before, I hope Mr. Akin wins.
