It really didnt matter what Charlie Crist had to say in his much-publicized remarks to the Democratic National Committee. All signs point to Crist former Republican governor of Florida-turned-Independent for Obama making a comeback attempt for his old statehouse job in 2014, this time as a Democrat.
A just-completed PPP Poll showed Crist (who has yet to register as a Democrat) defeating incumbent Republican Gov. Rick Scott by a margin of 45 to 42 percent among likely voters statewide.
In his remarks tonight, Crist made a spirited defense of Obama and the economic stimulus package that he broke GOP ranks to support while governor. Of President Obama, the former Republican said Ive gotten to know the man and, while we dont agree on everything, I like him.
Quoting his predecessor Gov. Jeb Bush that Ronald Reagan would have been too moderate for the Republican Party of today, Crist said that I didnt leave the Republican Party the Republican Party left me.
Crists embrace of the Democratic presidents stimulus package, coupled with an actual embrace of Obama himself when the president came to Florida in 2009, began Crists eventual undoing. Once the runaway favorite for the Republican Senate nomination in 2010, the then-governors popularity plummeted after the Obama embrace. Crist eventually switched to run as an independent, and placed second in the three-candidate race won by Republican Marco Rubio.
Since then, Crist has returned to private law practice with the firm of Morgan and Morgan in St. Petersburg and he is featured in its billboards throughout the state advertising the firms services.

PPP polling is a far-Left outfit. No wonder they’d pump up the numbers for the sun-baked turd, Crist.
Does he even matter anymore?
I’m moving to Florida just so I can keep turds like this out of office.
Crist is an excellent example of the liberalism that permeates the Republican party. Anyone who equates being a Republican with being a conservative is foolish.
Don’t forget that in GOP-E circles he had been seriously touted as a player for the presidential nod in 2012 ... maybe the one man who would be as bad as Romney.
His speech seemed a bit, well, awkward. Most delegates didn’t know who he was....and any that did sure didn’t know what to think of him. Most didn’t seem to even pay attention.
And Charlie just looked like a political whore, with no moral compass or core beliefs. He thinks Barry will be his ticket to get back into elected office. That is the only reason he spoke.
The best thing Crist did was pardon Jim Morrison. Useless, but at least cool.
I am a floridian, he pulled the wool over many people’s eyes, including mine.
Just goes to show how important it is for voters to vet prior to voting.

I agree with you. His speech was more proof Charlie Crist is just one cheap opportunist.
Just remember Charlie, nobody ever trusts a turncoat.
What a perfect exclamation point for a fizzling campaign, a washed up RINO doing a pole dance for dear leader!
