Yeah. A long rolling shake means someone, somewhere is having a VERY BAD DAY.

I was going to point out that if you have an earthquake in Costa Rica, it is by default, pretty close to San Jose; not a very big country.

You’re right. It is a small place. But it doesn’t seem small when you are trying to get from one place to another!

Over the years I have noticed a few things.
Websites seem to go through 3 major stages.
Stage One: Cluttered, crazy, but the info is there. No ads
Stage Two: Organized, simple, intuitive, informative. A few ads.
Stage Three: Cutesy, cluttered, crazy, and the info is hard to find. All ads.

It’s not a huge country, but it isn’t tiny, either. The topography is incredibly various - quickly ranging from sandy Atlantic beaches, to dense high-altitude rain forests, to hot,dry tropical valleys surrounded by volcanic mountains, and back to beautiful Pacific ocean fronts on the western side. It’s also pretty free and democratic for a Central American country and quite hospitable to small business. I could live there, if push came to shove.

The Dems should cancel their convention out of respect for the earthquake/tsunami victims. It would be insensitive to party while people were dying.

It is kind of funny, you can get across the country in about 5 hours, and that includes the slower speed limits and terrible road conditions!
Been there, went from San Jose to Puerto Viejo, was quite an adventure.

Another response, sorry, after I read your whole comment. We loved it. I was very taken with people who moved there to pursue their dreams, running restaurants, whatever. It was very relaxing in that respect, very slow paced. Very enjoyable.
I have considered, on many occasions, what it would take to own a hotel or rental property there.
