Virgil Goode makes presidential ballot in Virginia
The Washington Post ^ | September 4, 2012 | Ben Pershing

Former congressman Virgil Goode Jr. has qualified for the presidential ballot in Virginia, the State Board of Elections ruled Tuesday, adding a potential obstacle to Republican Mitt Romney’s hopes of winning the pivotal state.

The state Republican party has already challenged the eligibility of Goode, who is the Constitution Party’s nominee, and could still get him knocked off the ballot.

Goode’s presence on the ballot is an attack on America, most likely funded by Democrats.

Anyone who votes for a third party candidate, knowing that the candidate cannot win, is working to destroy this country, not Mitt Romney, this country.

darn thing is, Labriola was the candidate who put an end to the chairman bid by Aniskovich. Doug Hageman of Southington, ever run into that rascal during the old days?

Thought went thru my head today to abandon GOP and get active in the Independent Party which had its roots in Waterbury. They are ripe for overtaking at the town level. It would prevent further outrages such as their endorsement of Roraback.

we all know that if Greenberg had won, the pro-abort GOP crowd woulda voted for Esty. In their mind, their primary adversary is not the libs.

I wish this guy knew what an opportunity he has if he wants to be more serious about this race.

GlockTheVote:

Yup! Mittler!!! Don't like it or agree???? Too bad. It is what it is. Truth is a shedog. Ain't it? Disagreeing with the Mittler snugglers as ever I will, I will leave it to God's judgment to decide, without my help or yours, whether I am doing His work. Not that I would have a choice. However, His plans and His judgment just have to be better than thine or mine.

That being said, I think "Godwin's Law" is probably unique in its stupidity even in an era when Mittler can be nominated by the GDP, errr GOP, despite his lifelong desire to take away your Glock and everyone else's, and the innocent lives of another 5 million sliced, diced and hamburgerized innocent babies in his first term alone, by surgical abortion alone. Again, if you disagree, don't let your blinders slip. Mittler also has no desire to preserve marriage as one man and one woman only. Look up his track record in Taxachusetts. He appointed infanticidal judges there and there is no reason whatsoever to believe he would appoint anything better to SCOTUS or any federal bench.

He is a GOP-E windtunnel at best and more likely quite sinister. He BOUGHT the GOP nomination with mountains of GOP-E money buying up just about all the advertising time to dishonestly carpet-bomb every decent GOP candidate with his lies, distortions, slanders, libels, calumnies, etc., and prevent reply. That may leave you impressed but not me. Not to mention the magnificent support he enjoyed from the despicable GOP-E, the Lame Stream Media, and the Republican National Committee whores (Gimme mo' money! Gimme mo' powah! Trample those issue freaks!)

Maybe your actual priority is protecting Muffy's trust fund which is about the only proximate approach by Mittler to anything vaguely conservative. If that's the case, then change your screen name to Trust Fund the Vote.

Translate FNG into English in full words or have that part of your post be ignored. Your, ummm, "choice." Mittler also sucks up to the global warming crowd, is the real author not only of Romneycare but derivatively of Obozocare. Both of those seize control of our medical system. Both threaten the well-being of seasoned citizens (and, truth be known, everyone else as well). Both will drive many doctors out of practice and both will add 30 million freeloaders to the system as the number of doctors rapidly declines. If you value your health, study medicine to self-diagnose but you cannot self-prescribe or self-operate.

As the piece de resistance, BOTH Romneycare AND Obozocare are flat out persecution of the Catholic Church to which I belong and each and every pro-life church, by FORCING them to pay for abortion, various forms of abortifacient "birth control" (Plan B, IUDs, and the "pill" itself) sterilization, gender "reassignment" surgeries and "treatment." The man has contempt for the First Amendment religious liberty. Every time a Catholic bishop signs a premium check for such outrages to be covered by "health insurance," he commits mortal sin (the kind that merits eternal damnation. He can choose between life in prison on the installment plan with ruinous fines (for acting as a Catholic) or eternity in hell. You don't have to agree with Catholicism or its theology but then, under the First Amendment, it would then be none of your or Obozo's or Mittler's business to persecute and suppress Catholicism (or other pro-life churches either). Hitler used to try to get away with persecuting the Catholic Church at every turn. Google St. Maximilian Kolbe who was martyred at Auschwitz as a Franciscan priest or, for the Resistance, Cardinal Faulhaber, the Lion of Munich who dared Hitler to interfere with him and showed Hitler up for the coward that he was. So is Mittler.

You may want to see Mittler sworn in soooooo bad you can taste it. Tooooo bad. I see little relevant difference between Obozo and Mittler on the issues that count. I have voted GOP in each and every POTUS election from 1968 to 2008. I am done. If they want my vote, they can earn it the old-fashioned way by nominating acceptable candidates or do without my vote.

I live in a district adjacent to Ryan's and am not impressed by his local decisions either although he is near infinitely superior to the POS he is running under. I also have learned by long GOP experience at levels higher than you are likely to reach not to trust a word out of anything named Romney, not his daddy, not his mommy, not Mittler himself. Mittler is, by far, the worst serial liar ever produced by Clan Romney. You apparently love being told self-serving lies by your candidate. I don't.

"Etch a sketch! Etch a sketch! Dance to the music!!!"

You are entitled to your opinion (however wrong) and your vote (however tragic). Disgreeing with either makes one an actual conservative and, in my case, an actual Catholic, not a troll or a joke. If you elect your POS, you will soon enough be miserable at his performance. Of course, Obozo is at least as bad and maybe slightly worse. Nonetheless both Obozo AND Mittler are enemies of Western Civilization and I won't vote for either.

Conservatives lost the POTUS election the day that Mittler secured the nomination. Since the damage to the country is certain, I am not going to enable that damage. I will celebrate the defeat of EITHER of them on election night and immediately join in the effort to destroy the winner.

BTW, the above means I HAVE balls. How about you, Mr. Moderation????

#164 will have to suffice for now since I must attend a meeting. Feel free to keep up the stream of mindless insults. You can tell the quality of a person by the enemies they inspire. I have a set of enemies to make most actual conservatives envious. Pour it on!

My vote will cancel half of yours and half of Moochelle's. I won't vote for either of your useless candidates and I won't be alone as you well know.

Since you said that you want to “join in the effort to destroy the winner” of the presidential election, which conservative do you hope will oppose Romney, in the 2016 primaries? I might help you, if a good conservative runs.

Left PA huh? Be registered to vote in time?

You bet! Going down tomorrow to the county GOP Comm. headquarters to check it out and get two voter registration forms. I'm in conservative country here in Franklin County (Hurt's district). Love it!

Our votes will mean more in VA than in PA, so we're glad to do our duty.

And as soon as we're safely registered in VA, I'm going to make sure we're taken off the rolls in PA, although voter ID makes it more difficult for a miscreant to vote in your stead.

God Bless you and yours as well. The primary reason I am not Catholic is because I don't feel led to be one. I was a lifelong Presby, but felt led to leave that church. I felt that some of the things were happening contrary to God's Word (when the upper echelons were praying on whether or not to accept homo-marriage). The services at the last Presby Church I attended seemed ho-hum and lukewarm.

I prayed about it and felt led to join a Southern Baptist Church; when I moved from the area, I felt lead to attend another. Sundays I go to my Southern Baptist Church and it is like God is speaking directly to my heart.

Aside from half of my family being Catholic, Jesus tells me that most Catholics are my friends and certainly not my enemy. -

KJV Mark 9: 38And John answered him, saying, Master, we saw one casting out devils in thy name, and he followeth not us: and we forbad him, because he followeth not us.

39 But Jesus said, Forbid him not: for there is no man which shall do a miracle in my name, that can lightly speak evil of me.

40 For he that is not against us is on our part.

41 For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.

Your words struck with me and reminded me of these verses. It prompted me to look them up. Of awesome relevance to this thread (in terms of abortion) are verses 37 and 42.....

37 Whosoever shall receive one of such children in my name, receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth not me, but him that sent me.

42 And whosoever shall offend one of these little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

OTOH, we are fond of remembering that your Savior and mine did not establish a Church exclusively for saints but also for sinners (because He loved sinners in His infinite way) from the outset like Peter who cut off the servant's ear, and doubting Thomas and, ummmm, Judas, each of whom were privileged to be in His inner circle.

I'm fond of the saying 'Jesus is the only perfect person in church.'

“Anyone following VA politics knows that Goode is a crybaby who is throwing a temper tantrum over losing his seat in 2008 to little Tommy Perrillo. He is a fraud.”

Actually I didnt know that. So I had to check Wikipedia, and find he’s a lifelong politician. here we find:

“One of his major campaign focuses at the time was advocacy for the Equal Rights Amendment.[8] Soon after being elected, he joined the Democrats.”

I dont quite get how one can be a Democrat when Mondale and Carter and then Clinton were running the show, and then by 2008, donate to ... Ron Paul.

It seems inconsistent to downright flakey.

Repeat Offender:

Indeed He is and we shall not encounter anyone Who is perfect on this Earth until He returns.

May I share with you that the very finest Christian I ever hope to know was an old-fashioned Methodist woman who was my mother's closest friend. For years, they agreed not to discuss directly religion or politics lest their disagreements harm their friendship. The lady was a verrry conservative Republican and my mother then thought herself an FDR Democrat. My mom was committed to Catholicism and her friend was the absolute pillar of the congregation to which she belonged: no booze, no nicotine, no caffeine, no dancing, no card-playing. If you were her guest, she would make coffee for you as hospitality but never partook. And yet she was a great deal of fun, a wonderful woman, the soul of Christianity and Christian generosity toward every person she knew. She had many terrible heartbreaks in her own family and found her solace and inspiration in Scripture every day of her long life. When every Methodist church anywhere near her had become nothing but churches of organized leftism, she then worshiped by reading and pondering Scripture in her living room. She belonged to Jesus Christ and the world would not seduce her from her love for Him. She died almost 20 years ago in her nineties and I miss her greatly.

Also, I obviously don't know any of your Catholic relatives or acquaintances and I well recognize that we often disappoint folks who expect more of us. We, as a church, have been violently ripped by scandal, deviation from doctrine, some reluctance to do the hard work of learning Scripture in the impressive way that many reformed Christians do, by having our airhead caucus vote Demonrat for reasons rendered obsolete by history forty years ago, and above all by the damage wrought by the "Spirit of Vatican II" in which, as Pope Paul VI ultimately conceded in what appeared to be a temptation to despair in the darkest 1970s that "the smoke of Satan surrounds our altars." And then, just as all threatened to be lost, Karol Wojtyla came from Poland to become John Paul II. Not by any means perfect but a stunning leader who did much in his long papacy to turn the battleship around and, in later years, begin the purge of the worst of our dioceses by attrition and appointments.

There used to be verrry chilly relations, if any between Baptists and Catholics during my long ago youth. God has blessed a growing alliance in our country on matters moral among these groups. Eastern Orthodox, Southern Baptist Convention and some other Baptists, many Evangelicals and Pentecostals, Lutheran Church Missouri Synod and Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod, Westminster Presbyterians, Good News Methodists, most Mormons, substantial groups of Anglicans resisting changes in their churches, and others are also somewhat a part of growing social issues alliance. We have many theological differences but to a miraculous extent we have learned to work with, respect and support one another. We will also have Orthodox and Chassidic Jews with us such as Rabbi Yehuda Levin in NYC and Lubavitchers and Satmars. I also suspect that there are

We all remember Jesus's agony in the Garden at Gethsemane on the night before He was tortured and crucified and how He prayed to His Heavenly Father that this cup should pass away. Yet He certainly knew what the next day held in store. We identify with that agony in the garden. How many of us can concentrate on the fact that He also wept that night, knowing that His flock would not be as one. That certainly seems to suggest that His flock would have numerous groups within it but that each group would be part of His flock.

I envy the ability of so many of my brothers and sisters who are reformed Christians to cite Scriptural chapter and verse but I do have a Catholic recollection of sermons past on a variety of subjects and have read all of Scripture from cover to cover once. Though Catholic, I prefer the KJV because of the magnificence of the translation which seems to hold the very Voice of God compared to more modern and modernist translations like the allegedly Catholic Jerusalem Bible on the one hand (telling us what Jesus MEANT to say when He said the precise opposite) or all those New, New, Newest versions of various other translation. Scripture is the Good News but does not to be translated so as to encourage illiteracy. Among Catholic versions, I prefer Douay Rheims, Challoner Version, roughly contemporary to KJV.

It is obvious that your vision extends well beyond this November's sorry excuse for an "election." We have our mutual work cut out for us in this challenging time that God has called us to live in.

Again, God bless!

We always knew whom the GOP-E would choose to destroy. What we have to do is quietly build OUR army for a ground war. We will never be able to match their $$$ for air wars. We need to be light infantry and to harass them to insignificance. We both know that it took a long time to destroy Weicker and that when the time came he was defeated by a probable majority of Connecticut Republican voters and that he could not make it up from Demonrats for Weicker. That's the Connecticut blue print, especially if Connecticut conservatives can groom some talent to play the Tom Scott role x 10, some Republicans and some not while making verrrry clear that the GOP that deviates from principle is toast in any given election. You have some. You need more. It would be nice but probably won't happen if Tom could bring himself out of retirement. OTOH, we are all replaceable whatever we may imagine. Work with Greenberg and others like McMahon long term so long as we all understand that GOP-E is enemy #1.

The GOP pro-aborts offer no loyalty and should never receive any. That should be our first rule of political engagement. They are the Alger Hiss wing of the GOP. The good news is that we get to be Whittaker Chambers and Bill Buckley in his mischievous youth and Phyllis Schlafly in her prime, and Jack Kemp, and Ronaldus Maximus, etc. They get to be Weicker and Olympia Snowe and Arlen Specter at his worst, John Vliet Lindsay, and Myth Romney, etc.

No, just a veteran conservative operative who says what he means and means what he says (unlike the victims of the Mittler influenza) and who, among a bunch of other good things was a state chairman for Ronaldus Maximus when he challenged Mittler's equivalent baby-killer, social issue degenerate, quisling predecessor Gerald (Leslie King) Ford, also a GOP-E stooge. I am ashamed to say I voted for Ford over Carter. Carter's election paved the way for the man who was, by far, our very best POTUS in memory. I was also a pro bono attorney for 1100 pro-lifers arrested (only 30 convicted because of their totally stubborn resistance) while invading abortion mills, de-sterilizing the instruments, breaking raw eggs into the suction machines and thereby putting the mills out of their grisly business for weeks at a time. One client was the late Fr. Norman Weslin who died this year on May 16. Google him.

You were and are, at best, being a GOP party hack and a stooge for the GOP-E. Don't hallucinate that I will ever have to sit still for your ignorant guff. AND what dime discount store gave you your psychiatry license??? 25 cents got you your certificate??? If so, you overpaid.

Check out Campaign Pete's link on John Pistone, an independent Congressional candidate in CT-5 against an Emily's List candidate, Elizabeth Esty, and a "GOP" candidate (State Senator Andrew Roraback, Yalie social barbarian and all purpose leftist with Communist Party lawyer relative Katy Roraback [d. 2007] in his family tree) who makes Mittler look like an equivalent of Patrick Henry and John Paul II. Pistone is by no means perfect but you might want to refine away his raw edges. I would vote for him if I lived there despite some issue deviations.
