President Barack Obama took a veiled jab at his predecessor, George W. Bush, Monday during an appearance in New Orleans, where the former was touring damage caused by last week's Hurricane Isaac.  Here's what Obama said, according to the White House transcript:

It wasn't "defending Obama" to look at the picture of three supposedly auto-signed letters and notice that the signatures didn't look identical. Still doesn't justify his use of form letters in that circumstance, but the signatures sure don't look like auto-pen signatures.

Likewise, it's not "defending Obama" to actually look at what Obama said in this instance, rather than just relying on the interpretation of this blogger/columnist.

This vain, worthless POC doesn't have the skill set to tie W's shoelaces.

Looking forward to the day the he, Holder and a gaggle of democrats are in chrome bracelets and anklets, facing decades of time behind bars for the death, destruction, theft and fraud they have foisted on this nation.

Hwere’s a post of mine from another thread:

“A key factor in Katrina a was Governor Blanco’s ignorance of how the Stafford Act works. The President issues the emergency authorization, but the Governor must ask for specific things (like boots on the ground, relief supplies, permission to use airports, etc). Blanco asked for practically nothing in her Stafford Act memo, so FEMA and other agencies had no authority to enter Louisiana. In most cases they waited at the border for someone to wise Blanco up. Which was not until Thursday of that week, meanwhile the press is having a field day telling us that Bush was doing nothing (legally he couldn’t). No “journalist” explained or even mentioned the Stafford Act.

It pays to look up Stafford Act and see how it works. Congress passed it after Reagan unilaterally activated National Guard troops in another hurricane emergency, and lots of states saw that as a power grab and illegal infringement. Basically it stops the Exec Branch from staging a power grab based on an “emergency”.”

Did any reporter happen to mention how it was that a US Senator Obama didn't make his first visit to Louisiana until six months after Katrina?

That was all on Blank-Oh and Dallas Ray Nagin, Bush would have had to violate the Constitution to overcome their incompetence.

What is with this often repeated statement “obama is a nice guy but ...”? Obama is not a nice guy. He is an arsehole.

Dems go after their opponents strengths and even their own weaknesses and lie to at least leave some doubt. Our side won’t even tell the truth about obama and go after his so-called major strength - his likability. They concede that to him. They should go after his likability.

“I think there was also something said about the feds, by law, not getting involved until requested to do so by the state.”

The Stafford Act, yes.

people in Mississippi had a Republican administration and did well during Katrina.

Louisiana had Dhimmicrats in the statehouse and New Orleans...it was a DISASTER...buses stayed PARKED.

now there is a strong Republican Governor in LA....I expect the best under that situation.

zer0bama? he is just a Chicago Dhimmicrat Byotch who does nothing and blames everyone.

I remember that as well. I also remember that Bush visited some of the sites and victims the day of the second or third debate with Kerry....instead of preparing for national tv, he chose to comfort those affected by katrina. Revision of history is all the dems know how to do.

The Bush administration's response to Hurricane Katrina was delayed...by Kathleen Blanco.

Also, this mess in N.O. hasn't even begun to get cleaned up and he's already running his mouth.

Loser.

You are absolutely correct.

Pres. GW Bush offered help to Governor Blanco on TWO occasions and she refused federal intervention.

The mayor of New Orleans was upset because the buses available to evacuate citizens of his city were school buses and not plusher.

When summoned to Congress to discuss Katrina and her aftermath, both appeared only under the condition that the subject of their actions (or inactions) NOT be discussed.

They got a free pass to denigrate Pres. Bush when in fact he reached out to them immediately and his help was refused.

That fact surrounding the impact of Katrina has been ignored by the media but should be expressed every time anyone accuses Pres. Bush of not responding appropriately.
