Douglas Band, former President Bill Clintons top aide, plans to vote for Mitt Romney in November, according to a report in The New Yorker.
In an extensive article on the complicated and often unpleasant relationship between Bill Clinton and President Obama, the New Yorkers Ryan Lizza reports that Band intends to cast his ballot for the former Massachusetts governor this fall.
According to two people with direct knowledge, Douglas Band has said that he will vote for Romney, Lizza writes. Band declined to comment.
Lizza explains that Band believes an Obama defeat will bode well for Hillary Clintons presidential prospects.
For [Bill] Clinton, the politics are more complicated, he writes.
His associates take it as a given that he would like nothing more than to see his wife become President. Hillary Clinton will step down as Secretary of State after the campaign and begin the process of deciding whether she will run in 2016. By some measures a defeat for Obama in November would leave Hillary the undisputed leader of her party and propel her toward the Oval Office that much faster. At least one of Clintons closest advisers seems to be backing that strategy.
Lizza describes Band, 39, as Clintons closest political adviser.
Bill Clinton will give a keynote address to the Democratic National Convention Wednesday night
As I’ve been saying since the selection of HillaryRomney, that the Exempt Central Committee will be voting for Extortion-Care.
The Inside D.C. Extortion-Care is circling the wagons. All the players that will be Exempt and it’s Operants.
Will we see the most amazing thing to ever happen at a dem convention or will Bubba tell us all to vote for obama?

Barack Obama after midterms
clinton is at least tied for the most two faced clown ever to darken the American political scene. I won’t watch his speech, but will read about how he opened the trap door under Obama, when it’s all done.
She already looks like what she'll look like in four years.
Leni
Aaaaaaah...yeah we would.
It's hard to believe Obama has had to trot Clinton out to do ads for him.
She'd have gone for a hokey ME concord as her legacy, to harness all that Arab Spring nonsense with the overarcing goal of forcing a charter on Islam-at-large (the de facto Caliphate) to secularize/civilize/growthefup. It would have failed of course, but it might have bought some time that we clearly don't have now.
But more importantly, she'd have left domestic to Bubba, and Bubba could have gotten her a second term easy. What was the first thing Bubba said when he took over the podium from Bobo? "Let me just say a couple of things, first of all, I try to spend an hour a day studying this economy...I try to figure out what to do." and then proceeded to give more lip service to jobs in 15 minutes than came out of Bobo in 4 years.
You forgot to mention that he’s also a draft-dodger who wouldn’t man up when his number was called.
I think we’d be better off under Hillary than Obama. Clintons were not the ideologues he is and knew how to pivot.
“I think wed be better off under Hillary than Obama. Clintons were not the ideologues he is and knew how to pivot.”
I doubt it. Hillary like Obama is an ideologue. Bill wanted to get elected to get chicks. Hillary like Obama wanted to get the office to change the US.
Oh, I have no doubt Obama's a pivot man.
