Communications Director for the Democratic National Committee Brad Woodhouse said on CNNs Early Start this morning that clearly Americans are better off today than at the start of President Barack Obamas term.
Broadcasting from Charlotte, N.C., where the Democratic National Convention kicks off today, CNNs John Berman asked Woodhouse what many Democratic operatives were asked on yesterdays talk shows: Are we better off today than we were four years ago?
Absolutely, Woodhouse said. [Vice President] Joe Biden does it in a very short form. He talks about G.M. is alive and Osama bin Laden is dead. The truth is though is that the American people know. I mean, we were literally a plane that was heading the trajectory was towards the ground when the president took over. He got the stick, hes pulled us up out of that decline.
Woodhouse continued, We were losing 800,000 jobs a month. Lost 3.5 millions, Americans I know have not forgotten, we lost 3.5 million jobs in the last six months of the Bush administration. We gained 4.5 million jobs over the past two and a half years. So if you just put those side by side, clearly were better off. However, we have a long way to go.

ahahahaa
I’m not sure which is higher, the hubris or the chutzpah.
Thank you, Clint Eastwood for raising the question—and for making the Democrats think they have to keep it raised by contorting themselves to answer in the affirmative.
Put another way, "Where do I apply for a waiver from the Obama Catastrophe?"
Who in the MSM is going to call him on it?
You move to the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex.
Not surprising most commies and socialists believe we’re better off than we were four years ago.
Their theme should have been: LESS IS MORE.
Well, I know my family sure is better off paying twice as much for gas and food.
Yaaayyyy Obama!
better off = closer to the workers’ paradise.
I’m better off than I was four years ago? As I sit in my mother in law’s house with one working vehicle? AS we are eating Ramen and donations from the food pantry? (we lost our EBT when I got my new job but we are so deep in debt that our paychecks are gone the day we get them)
Obama’s economy is more than being helped with food by the Church. It is an embarrasment and a feeling of despair at being so helpless and unable to do anything for my family.
I have a good job now, but it will be another 4 years before I can say I’m better off. I could accept the poverty and apprehension if someone wasnt telling me I’m better off..
I can’t believe he was stupid enough to say that.
Sorry to hear about your situation, and hope it does return to normal in short order.
The situation IS improving and within two months we figure we should be back on track. But for someone to campaign on how good things are while jetting around to Jay Z concerts and Hawaii during the worst economy since FDR is beyond the pale..
I certainly agree with that. Letting his wife go on jaunts too, it just looks vile.
IMO, the 2012 DNC Convention is like a Jim Jones’ Kool Aid party.
This is all they have to run on that we have not countered and I don't know why.
Truth is in Bush's last two years, the only ones that were bad economically,we had a dem/rat Congress. And over his last 3 or 4 years we had Barney Frank, Raines and a whole bunch of law suites demanding that banks loan to anyone who could stand up and print their name.
We see the result. Housing and the economy collapsed. Now you tell me whose fault all that is and why we keep letting them get away with saying so.
Great post! I would add anyone who wants to know what the Dear Leader is up to should see 2016,its very revealing.
