DETROIT -
A U-Haul being used by the secret service for Vice President Joe Biden's visit to the Labor Day Rally in Detroit on Monday was stolen out of a hotel parking lot Sunday morning.
The U-Haul was stolen form the Holiday Inn parking lot in downtown Detroit on Washington Boulevard.
The hotel has declined to comment.
The U-haul is 14-feet high, has an Arkansas backdrop on the side of the truck and has Arizona plates. The plate number is: AD09406.
Anyone who's seen this U-Haul is encouraged to call police.

I can’t be 100% sure, however, I think I just saw it traveling down highway 611 in Afghanistan....don’t ask how I would know this.
It had 48,000 rounds of .40 JHP in it.

Biden was renting a brain for the speech. He kept it in the truck. Now he is likely to just say any old stupid thing.

The government it “self insured”. If you, as a government employee, rent a vehicle, you will not be reimbursed for any insurance you procure on the rental vehicle. This theft will generate an unbelievable amount of red tape.
OK...the subject of the piece is bad enough...
But..without reading all 100 replies...has anyone other than me become more disturbed and shocked by the fact that....
The freakin secret service rented a UHAUL?!?!? My god...I work for a small traveling millwork install biz..and we have the good sense god gave a billy goat to spring for an actual “Commercial” rental truck when it’s needed.
I mean...Uhaul is ok for hauling someones personal junk from one end of town to another...but for hauling $20,000+ worth of millwork, granite, tools, suitcases, and laptop bags 800 or so miles away....on a very time sensitive schedule....it’s worth the extra 10 bones a day for the commercial rental truck. (We actually come out cheaper with the better truck rental co due to volume).
Not to mention...it would be a total buzzkill on our professional reputations to pull up in a brightly colored Uhaul on the jobsite...versus the other...which looks like any generic box truck.
If a Uhaul makes us look unproffesional.....Imagine how embarrased some shotcaller is right now after getting an epic beatdown cussout from his betters....who read all the hilarious internet jokes circulating amongst every intel and diplomatic group...in the world.
Oooohh...I’m off to create some very clever Uhaul flyers and fax them to every three letter agency fed.gov has.
