A video mash-up of speakers from last week's Republican National Convention does not include an appearance from the "mystery RNC speaker," Clint Eastwood.

It wasn't just a homer, it was grand ridiculing slam !
Ah but that right when your candidates have no ideas of solutions the only think you are left with is deceit and dissension
Things like golf clubs, signs that read 'pink slip' and 'new stimulus pkg-FIRED' and basketballs or a golf club etc,.
Guess we'd better use old lawn chairs or m aybe make a makeshift chair of cement blocks or wood and add a sign-"BUILT BY ME MYSELF ALONE!" LOL
That’s a mistake the Democrats and the press (sorry for repeating myself) make all the time: Over-doing something and beating a dead horse. Team Romney is smart to go on to different things. Perhaps one of the lesser PACS will glom on to it and use it somehow. I imagine the Tea Party is working on that as we speak.
I thought the speech was greatest political art in a long time; a masterpiece. There is no such thing as bad publicity and the more the liberals media politicizes it the better. You forget only a few million watch the conventions or even care outside of those who are politically loyal. I would prefer water-boarding to 5 minutes of the Democratic convention. A fluff piece to make a politician more human? Haa, haa.
Obama as an empty chair is resonating in tens of millions of people who did not watch the convention. It is burned in the subconscious of every independent voter in America. Do not underestimate art. If it was not so effective the main stream media wouldn’t be helping spread the story to millions more. They are being played for fools.
I thought the Eastwood bit was quirky but highly effective, and very much resonated across mid-America. Moreso than a bunch of tired political speechifying. But the elite “political class,” both Dem and Repub, seemed rather horrified by it. Which, is actually rather telling, isn’t it?
So I guess we should have had that California conservative giant Carly Fiorina speak instead of Clint Eastwood? Somehow I don't think a speech from her would have been as memorable.
I watched it "Live" and, like many others, felt uneasy. His age, the hesitations and pauses, knowing that he was flying without a net and wondering if he would make some horrible mistake, had me sitting and sweating on the edge of my seat.
And when he finished up so strong I breathed a great sigh of relief.
However, now when you watch it via YouTube etc., knowing that everything will finish OK, a whole new light shines on it. It comes through as a sly and masterful performance all designed to do one thing...replace the current President.
It’s “too” not “to” or “two” in the context you’re using. Please tell me you don’t say something is “for sell” or “The car past the train.”
It may not be he was cut. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild union and recorded appearances that are made to sell may be too costly to get a contract on.
(in other words, as a SAG union member, he can make an appearance but his appearance can’t be sold on a licensed product without payment, which I suspect is very steep).
We put out an empty chair on our lawn tonight. We will see if this works better than the Republican signs that are always stolen

Sorrow of it is the person who steals it will just think you a fool for leaving a chair in your front yard, and not realize the significance of it.
I put an Empty Chair out today, with a sign that has a quote from Clints’ speech. Then, a few hours later, I looked out and I saw that my neighbor had put a chair out also.
During that “few hours” I was constructing a little “Empty Chair” out of cardboard and pop-sickle sticks, with it’s own little “sign” to take up to my grandfathers grave. It’s up there now.
Trust me on this - Grampy would have INSISTED that I do it! :)
Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory - bowing to the new tone -how familiar.
I only had a radio, and I thought he was quite effective from the start. The piece seemed hilarious and held together wonderfully well.
Guess I was fortunate not to see a TV so his appearance didn't bother me. He actually made me LOL.
Welcome to Free Republic newbie.
I just hope Romney doesn’t apologize for Clint’s speech
