Despite a truckload of evidence, most of which will eventually find its way into the public domain, many still refuse to accept that Armstrong doped. He passed all those tests, they say, ignoring that he tested positive at the 1999 Tour de France, a problem solved through a backdated medical prescription. The believers also ignore the finding of six EPO positives from the 1999 Tour when Armstrong's samples were retrospectively tested.
"The tests are easy to beat. We're way, way ahead of the tests. They've got their doctors and we've got ours, and ours are better. Better paid, for sure."
Even the dimmest need spend only a millisecond researching what USADA have on Armstrong to know it is direct evidence, not hearsay.

Armstrong had a right to an open evidentiary hearing before a panel of arbitrators. Had the evidence that USADA would have presented at that hearing not persuaded the arbitrators, Armstrong would have been cleared. Had the evidence persuaded the arbitrators of Armstrong's guilt, he could have pursued an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
Armstrong declined to go to arbitration.
This “Lance” guy...he rides a bicycle for a living?
I agree with you about athletics being more of a meritocracy than most other life venues. However, I also saw people like Sammy Sosa go from being a good but not spectacular hitter into a home run king on the basis of juicing.
Yes I do as well as the Jack Wilson/Valerie Plame witch hunt. Foolish me, I always thought that the 3 year, multi-million dollar investigation was going to result in some fool doing jail time.......
Go figure, Jack Wilson and Richard Armitage, the culprits, never got so much as an honorable mention...........
I`m merely allowing the irrational OJ/ Lance supporters to embarrass themselves with their emotional rants, “ Hey ,screw the + test results and overwhelming circumstantial evidence. To hell with dozens coming forward ( upon threat of losing it all in a liable case). Lance is our Obama ! All hail Lance”
Oh, and I`m an amateur rider who does sub 6 hour century rides despite being past the age of 40. Talk to the pros and they`ll ALL tell it to you to your face. He doped to win.
So take your Obama/OJ/Lance worship, and get help
You said it better than I was going to. Grownups playing with kids' toys and getting paid for it. Of course, for this guy, it was mainly tax dollars. Major sponsor was U.S. Postal Service. I would like to know how things like that happen.
Maybe you should return to your Man-Love thread and address the comments there before posting another one.........
Do you mean he’s liable to lose a libel suit?
Bah, doping should be mandatory in all high-level sports. Baseball players should all be as big as NFL defensive linemen. Basketball hoops should be raised by 2 feet. Bikers’ calves/thighs should be bigger than giant redwoods. Let’s get with it, people! Make sports worth watching again. If everyone is doped, no one is cheating. Steroids for all!
Did Eddy Merckx ever do drugs?
I don’t know what his levels were/are or what they are specifically referring to or if it’s one of those off the cuff numbers that is not necessarily accurate.
“Your point being, maybe we should eliminate all drug testing for athletes, it their body, let the do what ever they want, its more entertaining and I could care less...”
Not at all. Just the opposite. When some athletes use performance enhancing drugs, those that don’t are at an unfair disadvantage. It’s that simple. I don’t like when anyone in any venue of society is successful by cheating others. In sports it’s much harder to manipulate your way to success, but using performance enhancing drugs is one way athletes can game the system, and clearly some do.
After you let go of your obama-like messiah worship of Lance.
Your emotions do not trump the overwhelming circumstantial evidence and his + tests
Just like obama messiah supporters the evidence is irrelevant , only how you feel counts. There`s no reason to debate facts with emotional zealots.
When a man has testicular cancer, he usually has only one testicle removed. He can still have children.
Wow, that takes me back a while. In the early 90s my brother was studying in Colorado. As a good runner he hung out with the athletics crowd. He was pretty stunned to learn that a very famous British middle distance runner had blood doped. EVERYONE said so, and the clincher was that he had come down wih hepatitis B (the blood borne liver infection). It was true, two years or so before taking his second Olympic gold medal, he had been very sick with jaundice. Yes, it all sounded very plausible, how would an athlete get hepatitis B except from blood mixing? If only.....
...if only it had been Hep B. But jaundice can be caused by many different diseases, and as I learned many years later in Sebastian Coe's case it wasn't hepatitis but toxoplasmosis.
But I guess ALL cyclists know so much better than EVERY runner.....
The arbitration was rigged. No way any lawyer would have agreed to those types of rules. Fair means fair. Not we see the evidence and you don’t. Not we can surprise you with witnesses. No discovery allowed.
No standard of review.
Any real world arbitration panel would and does find those type of arbitrations a joke. If anything it establishes the USADA as a joke.
