Barbra Casbar Siperstein is scheduled to arrive in Charlotte today as the first elected transgender member of the Democratic National Committee. She has been New Jersey’s first and only transgender power broker for a lot longer.
In a state with a reputation for machismo, that’s no small feat for someone who describes herself as "a woman scarred by years of testosterone."

You said it; just as Chaz Bono will never be a man. You can play with hormone shots and surgeries but it can never make you the gender you were not assigned at birth. Even those born ambiguous - a tiny minority - are never fully assigned a gender . That this has become a big political movement and the ‘T’ in LGBT a permanent part of the logos only reveals that some hidden agenda with purposes far outside of mere “civil rights” is beneath it all.
A slight correction: there are two SEXES, not two genders. Sex is not a dirty word, it is a binary definition of a biological fact: male and female. Defects occur for this, just as they would for ANY physical trait, but this does not mean that sex is mutable.
Gender used to refer simply to language (masculine, feminine or neutral), then it encompassed a mental state of being, and now it is used to describe the spectrum of perceived physiology, be it male, female, transsexual, intersexual or asexual.
Words like gay, homophobe, heteronormative, gender and patriarchy are now entrenched in our lexicon due to manipulation of language and people just go along with it. If one uses any of their terminology, then the left has already succeeded in changing the way a person thinks.
I just finished reading “The Gender Agenda” by Dale O’Leary and everything written in this book 15 years ago has come to pass in full.
Maybe the Dems will mutilate a few genitals on stage this week(?)
It surprises me when people view Poland or Russia as solid bastions of social conservatism. Yes, there may be public policies in force that promote social values, but in truth, cultural rot is everywhere.
Poland hosts some of the most extreme porn conventions. Some American hausfrau broke the world's record for "taking on the most men" in a well-publicized event in Poland. The three nations that lead the world in gay porn distribution are Russia, where Orthodoxy is vigorously defended by the government, Brazil where evangelicals are growing in record numbers, and the USA where religious freedom is entrenched in our constitution.
What does that say about the integrity of those values? Not much.
The DNC may have it's first open tranny member, but the RNC isn't too far away from that either.
Break new ground? Yeah, right. What's next? A dem who 'breaks ground' by having dead baby parts surgically added to his face?

I agree. This is sensationalism and can’t believe it would be touted in an election year when so many serious economic and foreign policy issues are pressing. The Dems have sunk to a new low - or risen to new heights of insanity or senility.

I've known several sex-change victims - which is what they really are.
They have severe mental problems that predate their "operation". Like the unbalanced vain woman who believes that all her social and emotional problems will be solved if she just gets that facelift or breast enhancement, they believe that they will suddenly become sane and happy if they "just" mutilate themselves.
When it doesn't work, they are filled with regret, but as you say it's too late and they can't go back.
Johns Hopkins quit doing "sex reassignment surgery" years ago when they discovered that many of their patients committed suicide. In my opinion it's medical malpractice to participate in this.

It’s called “body dysmorphia” and it is a mental illness. Michael Jackson suffered from it. So do anorexics. And so do these “transgendered.”
The thing isn’t a woman...it’s an IT!! How dare they disrespect all womenkind by claiming its a woman. Talk about waging a war on women...the Democrats are masters at it.
A good rule is, if its chromosomal makeup doesn't match its, um, secondary characteristics, then you need to throw scare quotes around its personal pronouns.
