CHARLOTTE, N.C. When North Carolina voters approved a constitutional ban on same-sex marriages in May, some worried whether gays and lesbians would feel welcome here during the Democratic National Convention.

Now, advocates say the Charlotte convention will make history on issues of equality.

There’s a record number of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) delegates participating. And there’s the expectation that Democrats will approve marriage equality in its official party platform.

I hope people realize Dem. party rules have quotas for different groups in their delegations. In other words, everyone is balkanized into the Democrats favorite identity groups. I wonder if they will really be so brazen about their all identity politics, all the time beliefs at the DNC or if at least some effort will be made to put things under wraps a bit in order to fool the rubes watching.
