I should add, Rove has spoken very kindly of Akin.
Karl Rove.
Heh.
to answer your question, No, he wasn’t a talking head this morning.
This time is time for Rove to go.
He’s done the pubs wrong for about forever and I most certainly do include his derision of Christine O’Donnell and his advice to Mike Castle not to endorse her for the win of the primary.
Now he says something so obviously referring to a death of a politico of a Tea Party bent and we know whose side this fat bozo is on. and it ain’t the Tea Party, allow me to enlighten.
How about let’s not let our guys do what the Dems did. Rove demanded that Akin resign for his ill-informed comments, don’t you think so too should Rove?
It isn’t like many of us like the guy or anything. and that mark board thing ain’t cute.
The point I am making is that when non-political run-of-the-mill Americans hear a media talking head, government official or Obama spokesperson say that the recession ended in 2009 they shake their heads in disbelief. Academically we are out of the recession, but in the hearts and minds of most common people the worst recovery in history vice recession is the same thing to them. Ergo, we're still in a recession. It's pedantic to tell them otherwise.
So when they're preached to about the recession being over years ago, they feel those preaching are talking down to them and basically using semantics to spin the obvious. We're still hurting.
WHATEVER the government and media chose to call it. Things are not rosey. I.e., Assholerod and his 29 months of “recovery” and 4 million new jobs. Who is buying that? Remember when Obama said the private sector was doing just fine?
Surely all those who say we're out of the recession can't blame the consistently jobless (even since 2009) for thinking the recession continues..
You know what really astounds me about this Akin thing?
Which bothered on both levels, of course. But the man apologized and I kept wondering why our apologies are not enough, that our guys must resign.
I didn’t know what emotion to feel when Akin insisted on staying in. Maybe angry? Maybe respectful?
Cause we all know this happens over and over and we can’t trust our guys to act with common sense. They have no common sense; they are the political elite.
But now I am to understand Akin’s polls are rising and McCaskill didn’t seem to gain any sort of bump over it?
We should all learn a lesson if Akin goes on to win this. couple of lessons. One, don’t be so sure that Americans are crazy about abortions and will kill those who suggest temperance and discussion on the matter. Abortion is not considered a wonderful thing out here in la-la land where we carry this country on our backs. Even the most pro-choice woman would never espouse leaving newborn infants in a laundry room to die or pulling a child gestated over eight months out of the womb, crushing its skull first.
Second, the pubs really gotta take a stand sometimes. I’m not ready to take the position that they spokesnoid pubs should have not gotten involved with Akin beyond espousing that the voters will settle the matter, but I’m beginning to think it.
When asked the question asked, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" I hear the Obamabots saying that The One got us out the biggest downturn since the Great Recession. In Obamaspeak, this means we would be in far worse shape if Obama had not taken the actions he did. In fact, his actions have made the Recovery worse. Obama inherited the end of the recession and the nascent recovery. His policies had nothing to do with it.
1) Ryan acknowledged in his speech that the plant was scheduled to close before Obie....for which no one could blame Obie.
2)However, Obie campaigned in Janesville and hung out a carrot, that his administration would keep plants like this one open for 100 years, (implications being a vote for me is a vote for this plant)
3)The plant was clearly open well into Obie's administration, making trucks untll at least April of '09. Auto production had been shuttered sometime earlier. To say the plant closed long before Obie was in office is bold-faced lie. Shocker.
IMHO, Govt. Motors chose to close the plant because Obie didn't like the kind of vehicles being made. Gas guzzling trucks. Had it been Volts, do you think it would have closed ?
Yeah, throw the Mexicans the hell out!
Enact "Welfare to Work" on steroids, where food stamp, Section 8, medical welfare recipients can "give something back".
From the geust list it looks like I picked a good day to sleep in till noon.
The way to win this election for the ABO electorate is for the Romney campaign to avoid antagonizing Conservatives. Off to a poor start on that front by holding a convention completely devoid of the Tea Party (including Gov. Palin).
That's a different bunch of dirtbags, the environmentalist-whackos. I can't wait to see them exchanging blows with the union thugs in the streets of Charlotte.
While Newt is rebuking Gregory for his making light of Rove's murder joke, Carly jumps in to tell the panel that women are not one issue voters -- meaning abortion -- that they care about the economy, jobs, freedom, government spending ....
But she goes on to say that the GOPe did the right thing in calling for Akin to resign for his comment on one issue -- failing to note that he is not a one issue candidate.
Apparently the GOPe and Rove don't feel the same way that the one side of Carly's mouth and women do. The GOPe and Rove and the other side of Carly's mouth are easily offended by one issue and have shown themselves to be one issue offenders.
Carly should stick to ruining companies.
How about making it work by CHOPPING 3/4 of it away!?
5.4 million isn’t even possible. People filing new unemployment claims has consistently averaged 400,000 each week througout his entire pResidency.
She is so skilled at mergers that perhaps she will merge with Rove and bring her expertise for that to him.
That's my take as well. He seems to have a great family life, 5 kids, 18 grandkids. They tried to define him early on as an evil capitalist and it is not working any more. Smart strategery to let obama spend all his money up front. I also think they shouldn't shy away from touting unemployment under President Bush as being in the 5.4 range throughout his presidency. It didn't go up to 7 percent until the real estate collapse. And as far as that goes, they also need to point out who controlled congress and the bankings committees during Bush's last two years and they need to remind people about Cuomo and HUD and tell it like it is. They need to set this part of Bush's record straight once and for all.
Yes, RockLoblster
“The replacement is the restoration of freemarket reforms.”
Every time you remove the heavy hand of G’ment from any activity, it gets better, faster, newer and cheaper.
Healthcare delivery is no exception.
Did you read the Summary or bill?
You know he's going to roll over the smaller kids, the one's who can't get out of the way. But, sooner or later a big guy will come along and kick his ass far out into the ocean where he belongs.
Trouble is the incoming tide.
