I understand.

The point I am making is that when non-political run-of-the-mill Americans hear a media talking head, government official or Obama spokesperson say that the recession ended in 2009 they shake their heads in disbelief. Academically we are out of the recession, but in the hearts and minds of most common people the worst recovery in history vice recession is the same thing to them. Ergo, we're still in a recession. It's pedantic to tell them otherwise.

So when they're preached to about the recession being over years ago, they feel those preaching are talking down to them and basically using semantics to spin the obvious. We're still hurting.

WHATEVER the government and media chose to call it. Things are not rosey. I.e., Assholerod and his 29 months of “recovery” and 4 million new jobs. Who is buying that? Remember when Obama said the private sector was doing just fine?

Surely all those who say we're out of the recession can't blame the consistently jobless (even since 2009) for thinking the recession continues..

I understand where you are coming from and agree with your point.

When asked the question asked, "Are you better off than you were four years ago?" I hear the Obamabots saying that The One got us out the biggest downturn since the Great Recession. In Obamaspeak, this means we would be in far worse shape if Obama had not taken the actions he did. In fact, his actions have made the Recovery worse. Obama inherited the end of the recession and the nascent recovery. His policies had nothing to do with it.
