CNSNews.com) - Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), endorsing Mitt Romney for president Thursday night in Tampa, said Romney is the man who can successfully change the direction of the country -- which is going "backwards" under President Obama, he said.
"Our problem with President Obama isn't that he's a bad person. By all accounts, he too is a good husband, and a good father -- and thanks to lots of practice, a pretty good golfer. Our problem is he's a bad president," Rubio said.
The senator noted that the new slogan for the Obama presidential campaign is "Forward."
"A government that spends $1 trillion more than it takes in. An $800 billion stimulus that created more debt than jobs. A government intervention into health care paid for with higher taxes and cuts to Medicare. Scores of new rules and regulations.
"These ideas don't move us 'Forward,' they take us 'Backwards.'
"These are tired and old big government ideas -- ideas that people come to America to get away from. Ideas that threaten to make America more like the rest of the world, instead of helping the world become more like America."
Rubio said on Obama's watch, "the only 'change' is that 'hope' has been hard to find.
"Now millions of Americans are insecure about their future. But instead of inspiring us by reminding us of what makes us special, he divides us against each other. He tells Americans they're worse off because others are better off. That people got rich by making others poor.
"Hope and Change has become Divide and Conquer," Rubio said.
"No matter how you feel about President Obama, this election is about your future, not his. And it's not simply a choice between a Democrat and a Republican. It's a choice about what kind of country we want America to be."
Personally, I think he’s evil incarnate but when Rubio said that, I LOL.
It was a very polite, social high-ground, back-handed bitch slap, IMO.
Kinda like “Bless his heart”.
:)
I too think Obama is perhaps the first truly evil President hell-bent on the destruction of our country that we have ever had.
That said, Rubio’s comments are brilliant political strategy. They blunt that whole “likeability” thing that was supposed to propel Baraq to re-election.
Now the brain dead who voted for the Kenyan last time who are bitterly disappointed because he came in and made things much worse, can vote against him without feelings of guilt because they still are able to say “it’s nothing personal”.
Look, WE know he’s evil.
I’m just saying, there are people who respond to these things...like the biographical info in 2016 with; “Aww poor baby, he came up through such harsh circumstances; no daddy, etc.”
The ‘spoonful of sugar’ is humor. Ridicule. Look at the empty chair, and how it has them twisting! THAT’S the answer here. How do we know ridicule gets to them the most?
Zero even tweeted about it! He HAD to respond. He’s DRIVEN to it. What do narcissists HATE the most - besides themselves? Yep. Ridicule.
Adopting the ‘bad man’ theme is as bad as the ‘good man’ theme. BOTH are LOSERS.
FR is a veritable GOLD MINE of ridicule.
I soooo wish the dummies on ‘our side’ would use it - and hammer it!
You know what we’d see?
On-the-fencers laughing at him,
and? (my hoped-for)
Zero. Absolutely. Unraveling.
My opinions of Rubio are confirmed; he is a stinking RINO. Don’t hurt the Democrat’s feeling, by any means.
Of course Obama is a bad person...but the idea that some of you think the GOP leadership can go out there and say that and not loose votes is silly. The dim/MSM slime machine would distract the undecideds from the real issues onto this one issue...which frankly is a matter of opinion and not fact...
And we would have that bad person for another 4 years.
Again...please...none of you get in any positions to run any important campaigns.
A good father doesnt spend every weekend on the golf course wasting 5 to 6 hours he could spend with his family. Every once in a while is fine, but bozo seems to be trying to avoid his family/ props.
He should have used a different analogy:
“No one is saying Obama is a bad GOLFER”
——but let me put it this way, the ruling that one must be of natural born descent in order to run for the presidency came from what sentiment? the sense of priviledge or the need for protection?-——
I try not to comment about “birthed” posts but your comment borders on the absurd...
You are implying that because Rubio parents escaped from a communist hell hole like Cuba, we need to observe him to make sure his parents are not loyal to Cuba...
The man was born in this country....raised in this country, is a citizen of this country...
Granted there was ample reason to check loyalties at the founding of this country....

Calling him a bad person would only resonate with the opposition and the immature and close their ears and minds further from the obvious. Pointing out his obvious faults as President keeps the points salient. Doing it without the childish personal attacks give us the high ground and still allows the necessary attacks to counter the childishness that the Left has as its only avenue.
Now there you go again, trying to inject wisdom into political discussion. ;-)
The fact is there are an awful lot of members of the Honey Badger Right here. They just don't care. It's more fun to hurl insults and clever plays on someone's name than it is to craft meaningful arguments. And I suppose there is a small place for that, but it has almost nothing to do with running an effective campaign. Sadly that is the way that many non-Freepers perceive this place.
Freaking evil anti-christ. He is Damien without the occult magic (yet).
Yeah, The Roberts vote seemed to be occult like.
Marco knows it too...but he is being strategic in a two-fold way.
First, he is appealing to those folks who were once Obama supporters but are now wavering due to his abject failure as President and, second, he is deceiving the enemy (the Left) ala "The Art of War" by telling them that he doesn't see them clearly.
Everyone on the Right knows full-well that Obama is a existential threat to our country. We know he is completely evil. But there is no reason to show our hand to the enemy.
That remark was aimed at the fence-sitters so as not to offend them by a personal attack on the dip$hit in the WH.
RE: Obama IS a bad person
He is an EVIL person. Anyone who advocates infanticide is pure evil.
Unfortunately, when an honest conservative tells it like it is (i.e., Joe Wilson’s “You Lie!”) not only are they shredded by the media, the GOP refuses to back them up.
By the way, give me one good reason why the democrats shouldn’t continue to behave the way they behave. They consistantly get away with it. They need to be held accountable. Instead of sitting passively while the squishy/wimpy GOPe chastises an honest leader we need to (figuritively speaking) knock down the GOPe and stomp the snot out of them.
“I dont have the deep dislike for Obama that I had for Clinton”
I despised Clinton for what I knew about him.
I despise Obama for what I don’t know about him.
