FORT BLISS, Texas -- President Obama was planning to visit storm-stricken Louisiana before GOP rival Mitt Romney announced his plans, White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters aboard Air Force One Friday morning.
Romney's campaign announced his trip to New Orleans -- he is touring areas hit by Hurricane Isaac this afternoon -- hours before the White House announced Obama would cancel a planned Monday campaign event in Cleveland to divert to Louisiana.
Carney offered no details about where in Louisiana Obama would travel during his Monday trip.
"In terms of the President's travel, obviously when you're president of the United States, coordinating travel carries with it I think unique logistical challenges," Carney said. "And it was the assessment of the president's team, working with all the people involved in operations as well as people on the ground that Monday would be -- was a good day for the president to visit."
“Big deal.”
Pretty much sums up every one of your posts.
The Prevaricator in Chief has spoken.
two more months.. and then four more months.. arrgghhh..
“A Romney aide told ABC News that Romney would ‘join Governor Jindal and will meet with first responders, thank them for their work and see areas impacted by the storm’ in LaFitte, Louisiana, some 20 miles south of New Orleans.”
So you think Romney should have turned down Governor Jindal’s invitation?

Excellent, excellent read:

So many good points .... here’s one:
Yet he is still nothing more than a small man — so afraid people will see — a man loath to allow those who would dare the freedom to do what they have always been free to do — pre-Barack, of course. He knows better, because after all, he knows best. It’s always the pretentiously petite and the intellectually bankrupt who scream the loudest and profess to have all the ideas — just don’t ask them what those ideas are.
A realization of reality, a lack of self-confidence, a metaphorical mirror affording him the opportunity to see who he really is, has manifested itself in the manifold narcissism we see in our child king today — for he is nothing, if not our savior. He understands nothing — he sees nothing. It’s about him. It’s always been about him, despite what he says. We are merely pawns in his quest to be recognized as the greatest man to have ever lived — the one. The oceans will cease to rise, and the planet will begin to heal, because they must...
This is so transparent it’s embarrassing to even watch.
When Obama gets the 3am call he’ll be able to get on Air Force One and head to Offutt for safety 3 days later. But Mitt Romney will already be there when the supposed POTUS arrives.
lol.
If I were Bobby Jindal, I would say “I’m too busy to be bothered with or by you”.
Know that won’t happen, but it’s such a pleasant thought :^)

Why not? What’s barry going to do, stop more drilling and kill more jobs before the election?
Maybe Jindal should say, “Thanks, but no thanks, we can’t afford more of your personal attention.”
Good grief, that reads like a personal profile of BamBam. Scary.
"No changes to our schedule as of now," Obama campaign traveling press secretary Jen Psaki told POLITICO.
While the statement has weasel room, it clearly shows Carney to be a liar.
That being said, I have to say that, personally, I have never seen a nominee, after giving a very Presidential acceptance speech, come out of the gates in less than a day and without question out-President the current one. Seriously, this has to be a record and the proof is so blatant that Dems and supporters are reduced to, "both are doing it for politics only" or "Jindal didn't invite Obama" or "let's just presume both care."
On the other hand I can believe that O and Co. were planning Monday all along so as to tie his "heroism" with the beginning of their convention. Maybe more devastation by then from flood waters for more emotional photo-ops. That's not a leader - that's a psychopath.
What has happened down here is the wind have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangeline
The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through cleard down to Plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of Evangelne
CHORUS
Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tyrin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
Louisiana, Louisiana
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
They’re tryin’ to wash us away
President Coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The President say, “Little fat man isn’t it a shame what the river has
done
To this poor crackers land.”
CHORUS
God you liberals are insane. Why not just say you are a communist and be done. Plus why do you follow Obama and have a blank slate on you page? Either have zero accomplishments or are embarrassed about yourself.
Look, my shirt gots buttons and I can tie my own shoes too! Watch me, watch me!
obastard is pitiful but I hate him anyway.
When his term is over his mother will be washing his mouth out with soap for a year for all the lies he’s told......
Call this independent conservative any name you want; it’s what children do. As an adult I have come to a mature decision: every time I see a post by you and your defeatist ilk I’m just gonna scroll on by. You add NOTHING of value and your comments should be treated as such.
Disgusting ain’t it?
LLS
What we need to find is...no joke....the chair Barry used to use at the Illinois legislature. It is apparently enshrined at some museum in Springfield....I may have to go on a mission! PHOTO-OP!!!!
Anyone check to see if Obama has stopped the rise of the oceans, yet?
LOL! Perfect.
