Our "virtual" endorsement was primarily premised upon two concepts:
1. The critical need to arrest the loss of Liberty, heritage & the remaining fruits of eight generations' labor.
2. The reality of Gov. Romney's demonstrated ability as a "problem solver"--the implied ability to look at all aspects of a situation. The suggestion was that we could move Romney to the right by working on his strengths; by polite, patient & persistent appeal for him to use that perceptual ability, employed to succeed in business & in saving the Winter Olympics, a decade ago, with respect to issues where he has clearly not been on our side in the past. The premise was that our side was based on truth; truth that would become increasingly clear to anyone taking the time to fully analyze the factors, both apparent & not so apparent, in the full context of causation with respect to any situation requiring attention.
The selection of Congressman Paul Ryan for "running-mate," in an election where the fiscal management of Government was to be the prime issue, confirmed our point. It demonstrated that capacity as a "problem solver." Thus, remaining focused on such primary concepts, we now fully endorse Gov. Romney & Congressman Ryan. We will actively support their candidacy. Yet consistent with the same premises--recognizing that there remain issues, every bit as important as the economy, on which we are not on the same course--we will also work to move the candidates further in a traditional Conservative direction. Yet how to do so?

Let's get the needed job done!
Romney is getting my vote and that is way more than the liberal deserves.
We are going to be tested. America will not be recognizable, if we fail.

He really is not that "liberal," in the sense that you appear to be using it--that is, in the modern, misused sense, of a big Government fanatic, trying to make Government the answer to any problem.
Surely you liked the distinction that he made, last night, in putting the interests of the American family ahead of Obama's grand schemes to pander to the paranoid environmentalists. (Just the latest example that his underlying values are conservative.)
William Flax
William,
I am sure that he will be fine on some fiscal issues, but he is way more to the left on gay marriage, abortion and other issues I have problems with. He is closer to the Democrats on social issuses big time. However, I will vote for him, but that is it.
Bob
Much of the projected Romney image at the Convention was as a family man; a man steeped in the multi-generational concept of the family. If he has not been more outspoken against the oxymoron of "same-sex marriage," it may only indicate that that has not been his focus. As a rational "problem solver," he addresses problems by looking at all relevant factors. Do you want him to focus on the problem caused by those pursuing a militant agenda against traditional family values? That is precisely the point of my article, that is linked to this post.
Instead of insulting the man; why not try to steer--to politely steer--the discussion in a direction that may induce those not militantly committed to evil, to reconsider their sometime appearance of toleration for it.
This is essential, in any event. Whether we succeed with the Governor, or not, we have to reach out to reclaim a large segment of the youth, who have been misled in American High Schools & Colleges.
William Flax
he is not THAT liberal???
oh please....
check his record..
he makes clintoon look like a centrist..
everything fubo is trying to do, he has already done..
if you are stumping for people to hold their nose and vote for him, at least have the guts to put it that way...
Prove It or Shove It
enacted gun control ( assault weapons ban ) in his state after the federal one expired..
signed mcromney care into law ( the father of fubocare )
appointed 28 left wing liberals to the state courts
champion of the 50 dollar on demand abortion
supported gay rights
raised taxes and increased regulations
corruption and ineptitude ( think of the big dig )
there, i have proved it..
and these are just the warm ups..
now you can take your socialist crap and spew it elsewhere..
in other words, YOU shove it..
The corruption of education in our High Schools & Colleges has created a situation that forces us to try to convert all those who are not hate driven advocates of revolutionary dogma.
Thus, I will only politely point out to you that Massachusetts has long been a center of meddlesome reform movements. That a former Governor went along with some of them, when he was the public servant of the people, there, is not a basis for demonizing him, when he has obviously already rejected much of what you set forth. If you will not recognize the possibility of redemption, you have effectively greatly reduced your options as to how to fight for Conservative values.
Incidentally, the rights of the States to have different--very different--social perspectives, is inherent in the Federal system, that is the bed rock of American Conservatism.
But again, I will not respond to you in an angry tone.
William Flax
How about RomneyCare, same sex marriage, cap & trade, same sex adoptions, forcing Catholic hospitals to provide abortions, taxpayer funded free abortions, closing down coal run business stating he will not let them kill any more people, new gun control regulations. He raised the revenue collected and called them fees so he could say he did not raise taxes, etc.etc. etc. I am forced to hope he wins but at least I will do it with open eyes.
Who are you and what have you done with napscoordinator? Et tu, Cripplecreek?

Wow, naps. I was getting the impression that you were really an Obama plant on FR! Please accept my apologies!
I know right? Winnowing the list..
Just arrived for showing of 2016. Much excitement, place is packed.
The last 24 hours have provided further confirmation of the soundness of the approach that I have advocated in this thread!
