On night two of the Republican National Convention, Fox News Channel was once again the network more people went to to get their political fix. That said, every network was down substantially from the same night in 2008, when Sarah Palin made her RNC debut.

McCain wasn’t a RINO? My goodness.
McCain was a RINO. That’s why it will be so pathetic for Romney to lose 13 million of McCain’s viewers tonight.
GOP Establishment.
McCain was a Democrat in Everything But Name.
DIEBN?
17 million viewers gone. You gotta love Paul Ryan but when it comes to drawing in the folks there is nobody like Sarah Palin. In 2008 we had Sarah. In 2012 we didn’t.
Case closed.
We already know about the race baiting agenda on MSNBC. Will they have conservatives anchoring their DNC convention coverage or will it be Larry, Maddow and Mathews?
The more interesting ratings race will be for the Democrat convention in Charlotte. If Fox wins that one too, then that means the commie networks don’t even appeal to the commies.
Yeah, it doesn’t make for a great acronym.
BUT YOUR ENTIRE PREMISE IS THAT PEOPLE TUNED OUT BECAUSE OF THE RINO’S SPEAKING AND BECAUSE ROMNEY IS A RINO. RYAN IS A CONSERVATIVE AND MCCAIN WAS A BIGGER RINO THAN ROMNEY.
SO YOUR THEORY MAKES NO SENSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was just more enthusiasm and curiosity last time around. The first black nominee for the dems, first woman veep for the pubbies. The RNC convention in 2008 was the most watched political convention EVER.
It’s not surprising there is a drop off from most watched ever.
The press made Sarah out to be an air head ...the rats watched hoping she would make a fool of herself..
If Karl Rove and the rest of the GOP-e buffoons weren’t such fools, they would have let Sarah speak before Ryan and she would have attracted for him him an extra 10-15 million viewers last night.
But the RINO hate for Palin, Conservatives and the Tea Party is so strong, they sabotaged the opportunity of a lifetime for Paul Ryan. And it was by design. The RINOs hate Paul Ryan, too.
The mythical being that people use to blame the failure of their candidate.
FUBO is my acronym of choice.
None of this is an inication of will win or lose. Again last time we had the most watched convention EVER, beating Obama’s lovefest, and McCain and Palin lost.
The media didn’t even show the people who spoke before Ryan instead yammering among themselves about nonsense.
Just got a telephone call from Ramussan. They polled me on my views of the coming election. Asked specific quesions on Social Security. Even asked about Clint Eastwood.
You have to remember,
1. last year the GOP convention was after Labor Day, not before.
2. 500,000 viewers in red states were out of power.
3. The majority of people have made up their minds.
The press made Sarah out to be an air head ...the rats watched hoping she would make a fool of herself..
She wouldn’t have drawn the same numbers as last time. The novelty is worn off. Her reality show didn’t fair that well when all was said and done. And Bristol’s reality show totally tanked and was pulled.
I’m not sure people are as fascinated with the Palin’s as they were four years ago.
Also to be factored into this is that viewership of the big broadcast TV networks among those 18-49 years old has decreased by 17% since the 2007-2008 season. Given that there are about 115 million households with TVs in the United States, the drop amongst 18-49 year olds could account for a very large chunk of the difference between 2008 and 2012 network viewing of the RNC and have little or nothing to do with the degree of interest then versus now. How many viewers were following it online in 2012 versus 2008?
