RE :”And that phony Indian tracker friend.....
.....
That was Bruce Cabot -— the guy who saved Fay Wray from King Kong.

' Cahill U.S. Marshal (1973) ' and Neville Brand played Lightfoot not whoever.

I guess when he got that part it must have been like when Joan Collins could only get acting jobs that required her to take off her clothes, or another worst movie of all time : Empire of the Ants where she had to walk through a swamp with a giant ant make believe head poking at her, LOL, you gotta see that one.

Or when poor Bella Legosi had to take Plan 9 from Outer Space, the absolute worst movie of all time. Poor Bella died before his scenes were completed and unlike the character he played in that Turkey he didnt rise as the undead to finish the job.

I felt sorry for poor Bella ending that way.

I know a ton of actors. For all but a very few of them the last decades are sad and empty. The same goes for directors. Once the phone has stopped ringing panic then depression take over.

You'd be surprised how little you have to pay some very well known actors -- if they haven't worked in for a while.

One guy in particular comes to mind. He was a series star, a film tough guy (second or third lead) and actually directed two films. The last time I saw him he had not worked in over a year. I drove by his house in Santa Monica and saw him sitting in old sweats and un-shaven on his front steps drinking a beer - at eleven in the morning.

RE PLan 9:

That has been called “the worst movie of all time” in every place I’ve seen the title mentioned.

I remember it from Saturday Afternoon Chiller Theater on UHF stations...

Yeah, Bela Lugosi went from the horror icon Dracula down to a mere caricature. A shame...I believe he was actually buried in his Dracula costume because he loved that role so much.

As for Joan Collins taking her clothes off...well...

Nice rack...back in the day!!! (couldn’t resist)....

I missed some parts of the Eastwood speech. MSNBC gang complained that Eastwood made the imaginary Obama on the stage use the F-word "I KNOW he does not use that word...." I don't think Eastwood said that word, but rather "I can't do that to myself." I thought that Eastwood described what the imaginary Obama was thinking.

GOP characters seem to be trying to play it safe, saying what Eastwood said doesn't matter (but probably laughing their ***es off when not on camera).
