A bill prohibiting the use of controversial therapy aimed at 'curing' homosexuality on gay teenagers has been approved by California's Assembly, bringing the state a step closer to becoming the first in the U.S. to outlaw the practice.
The vote in the Democratic-controlled Assembly on Tuesday represented a major victory for gay rights advocates who insist that so-called conversion therapy has no medical basis because homosexuality is not a disorder.
Democrat Richardo Lara, one of several openly gay legislators to champion the bill during the debate, urged Assembly members to stand with 'sissy boys'.

The same crowd that declares healthy, high energy young boys diseased and must be medicated.
Seems like a pretty obvious attack on free speech.
It’s an attack on the practice of medicine.
This is unconstitutional beyond belief....at least it is now.
So it will be against the law for straight parents to try and get their kids counseling for confused sexual identity?
Riiiiiiight. And I bet it’ll be considered child abuse too.
White middle class parents will only be affected. Noway these white lefties will mess with a black single mom over this gay kid issue.
The first step is admitting you have a problem.
But the Sandusky method of trying make homos out of the nearest kids is left alone?
I was struck that in relation to the play and movie “Tea and Sympathy”, which is about a college coach’s wife’s attempts at helping a sexually confused male student, lead actress Deborah Kerr received numerous letters from many people having struggled with similar issues. One letter in particular, about the drama’s character, which she kept, stated essentially, “I wish I could have known someone like you in those years. Now it is too late.”
There evidently is a time of confusion for many a potential homosexual when they might have preferred a life of “normalcy” with a spouse and children rather than one of myriad unhappiness no matter how hard they might struggle to put that same stamp on what it can never be.
Oh, that's right. The homosexual activists don't want that. They're still trying to convince people it isn't a choice.
Sorry, folks. . .behavior is ALWAYS a choice.
Yeah, I had the same thought.
So homepathic “cures” cure, but any approach to helping someone is not a cure if it doesn’t fit your definition of helping, whether it fits that defintition to the person being treated or not - according to Lib thinking.
I don’t believe in 12 step programs. I think they establish permanent dependcy on the program, a programmed dependency, not what I believe is a necesssary one; and necessary or unnecessary it is a legal treatment. I think it’s quackery, but if I were a lawmaker I’d consider it none of my business if people wanted to use it.
The difference; I’m a Conservative and the legislators in California are Libs (mostly) - Nazi-like, bussy-body Libs; going to change the world by chaining everyone to their opinion.
If my son ever tells me he is gay, you better believe I will be doing everything in my power to straighten him out. Luckily, it doesn’t appear that will be a problem.
Do not attempt to interfere with government attempts to manufacture homosexual democrat voters.
I’m not a fan of 12 step programs either, but they are better than having an alcoholic, drug addict, or homosexual family member.
IMO, it is major disfunctionality of some sort, or in some cases outright abuse, that causes children to travel down that path.
That is often the case, but I can 100% guarantee you my brother, who went down that path, was not abused. At least not at home...
Going by the comment voting at that link the tide has really turned against the radical homos, six months ago the voting and comments would be overwhelmingly in support of the gays but now it’s the opposite.
More results of the much needed Chick-Fil-A lesson that pierced through the propaganda bubble last month?
From the UK much less.
If this becomes law, it will prevent therapists and parents who believe that a child could be helped with a disordered sexuality from doing anything that leads in the direction of healing. They would be forced into allowing the gay advocacy groups to take charge and guide the minor into embracing the gay lifestyle. Which is of course the whole point of such legislation. No choice.
So, if a gay gene is proven, will California outlaw abortions?
