There is or was a theory that a small state would be desireable to take over, so,

New Hampshire went from reliably Republican to a toss up state

Maryland was turned into a political moonscape

If you see weird litmus tests

If you see party switching invasion forces brought in for caucuses and such... "

BlackAdderess, I referenced both of your posts, because they made sense when read together.

Excerpted from the above linked KLEW-TV article:

"...For all the furor surrounding legislative races, it pales in comparison to some unusual local Republican contests.

In one, Shaun Winkler, a Ku Klux Klan imperial wizard, faces incumbent Bonner County Sheriff Daryl Wheeler in the race to be the top law enforcement officer in Idaho's rural north. Winkler, 33, held a cross-burning near Priest River last week.

< Snip >

"But Paul loyalists including Ryan Davidson have said they're targeting obscure local GOP precinct committee leader races, in hopes of sending friendly delegates to the state Republican Convention in Twin Falls in June to reverse Romney's caucus win.

Debbie Field, a former GOP state legislator and Romney organizer, is flabbergasted. She points out that many Paul backers wanted the caucus, thinking it could help the libertarian-leaning Texas congressman's chances.

"It's amazing," Field said. "When they don't get the results they want, they change the rules. It's a strange way of functioning."

< Snip >

Democrats who are holding their own nominating contests Tuesday are observing the machinations from the other side of the aisle — not without a little relish..."

This supports my opinion that the rules change was not a GOP, Rove or Romney power grab, as much as it is a means of slowing down some of those who wear conservative Republican garments, namely the Ron Paul supporters, liberals and others, who are making great efforts to insure another Obama Presidency.

Say what you will about Ron Paul but he is not a nutcase, he is perhaps one of the most sane men in that room.

That being said I don’t agree with Ron’s forign policy, although as events move forward it seems more and more likely that Ron Paul’s foreign policy will be a necessity for a time.

Like it or not Under Obama the Federal army, and air-force is becoming more and more a domestic threat to our liberty. Invariably as this continues the same forces meant to protect us from foreign threats will themselves pose the greatest threat. We may have little choice but to see their abolition. At which point our only defenses will be in our State Militia in a climate of distrust against Washington which will render them unsuitable for anything but the defense of theses united States from foreign invasion.

Simply put that leaves us with Ron Paul’s foreign policy as Washington’s only practical option.

We should sign a petition suggesting that the situation is grave and Paul should have Secret Service protection to protect him from tin foil pancakes.

“The GOP’s version of the “crazy uncle from the attic”.”

Except these losers who claim to be Constitutionalists are actually no better than Soviet apparatchiks and commissars, who would pull stunts like this...lying and literally defrauding people of their votes and support.

It’s time to take the RP nuts as the serious problem that they are.

They need to be expunged from the Republican Party. Play hardball, tell Rand sorry, due to Issac, you will be unable to speak at the Convention or the next Convention. After all, can we really trust him?

I would vote for Obama over that asshat. The gig is up moonbeam. Ron Paul is a fraud and defrauded voters of their actual votes by Branch Paulians pretending to be for other candidates.

Ron Paul's supporters have rebranded themselves as "Freedom Movement", as in Fayetteville Freedom Movement, Dayton Freedom Movement, etc. The strategy is too show up at the convention and have the electorial process from core supporters overturn the National Majorities. Simple is it not, e.g., to work within the GOP/RNC rules to have an oversampling of support at the convention to stage a coup.

Locally (Fayetteville), the "Freedom Movement" has John Birch Society speakers and attends the Cumberland Co Gun 7 Knife Shows to reach out to people. Anytime I speak to them they tell me they are the only option since there is no active TEA Party Group here.
