The Romney campaign released these excerpts of Ann Romney's speech, which she'll deliver tonight at the Republican convention in Tampa: Tonight I want to talk to you from my heart about our hearts.
I want to talk not about what divides us, but what holds us together as an American family. I want to talk to you tonight about that one great thing that unites us, that one thing that brings us our greatest joy when times are good, and the deepest solace in our dark hours.
Tonight I want to talk to you about love.
Mitt's dad never graduated from college. Instead, he became a carpenter.
He worked hard, and he became the head of a car company, and then the governor of Michigan.
When Mitt and I met and fell in love, we were determined not to let anything stand in the way of our life together.
I read somewhere that Mitt and I have a storybook marriage. Well, in the storybooks I read, there were never long, long, rainy winter afternoons in a house with five boys screaming at once. And those storybooks never seemed to have chapters called MS or Breast Cancer.

Please, inform all of us where Romney claims he expects to become a god.
P.S. If you were a true Christian you would know there is only but ONE God. Your post gave the "god" a capital. Tsk tsk tsk.
Sore loser.
Lovely families don’t come about by accident. They come about because the parents love each other and the children. And raise the children with permanent values. There has been so much hate expressed on this site about the Romneys I wish all you people would shut up and try to figure out why you hate so much.
If you belong to a Christian church, then they have judged that Mormonism is not Christian.
One reason among many, is that it is a religion of many Gods, even Bishop Romney anticipates become a God himself, it is what guides him.
I’ll choose the candidate who’s not ashamed to say that our rights come from our Creator. “Creator” is like a wooden stake to Barackula. He will NOT say that word. We should not have a president who won’t say that word because our Creator is the FATHER OF OUR CONSTITUTION!
A Christian church does NOT talk about others (gossip). We speak of the Bible and His word, that’s it.
If your church is gossiping about others, perhaps you should look for another church.
Every major Christian church has a position on Mormonism, and they all agree that it is not a part of Christianity.
Christian churches all agree on that.
This thread makes me sad. We conservatives have so few allies in our efforts to preserve the greatness of our nation. We don’t need to count each other among our enemies. Having been a FR member for eight years now I remember a subtly different culture back when I first signed up.
Not all conservatives are religious. Not all conservatives agree on every issue...The problem in my view is that we are extending our definition of enemy to include those who are close idealogically - Just not close enough.
We cannot become a house divided against itself - A house divided cannot stand. We are doing so many things right - Getting true Tea Party conservatives elected to various offices local and national. Sadly, one of those victories was not a viable nominee for President. A consolation prize was an arguably outstanding VP pick.
I really believe the key going forward is to consistently make the best choice possible even when it’s not the ideal choice, and to never, ever lose our focus on the neverending battle to push the real conservative candidate whenever possible.
Decisions have consequences. Choosing not to choose is still a choice. I believe if one candidate is driving us off the cliff at 100 mph, and the other at 60mph, I’d still rather be in the slower car. The situation still sucks, but it sucks less in scenario B.
My main thrust here, however, is not to try to change minds on whether to get behind Team Romney or not—That’s a deeply personal choice and pricipled positions can disagree. What I *do* hope to encourage is for us to remain civil with each other and strengthen our conservative fraternity because no matter what happens in November, the fight ahead of us has just begun, and it will never end.
Bullcrap. ANY “Christian” Church does NOT speak ill will of others.
A true Christian Church speaks the word of God....period, end of story.
They do not gossip upon others.
The ignorance on this thread is absolutely stunning. We are trying to save the country and of the two choices we have, Romney is the man, period. Take your holier than thou crap it put it where the sun don’t shine.
We bash NO ONE. If it makes you "feel good" bashing others, by all means, continue.
That “mystery speaker” might be Clint Eastwood, by the way...
"Christian churches all agree on that."
I haven't heard of that. Could you please post your all knowing confirmation of this statement?
In my church, we speak His word and His word only. There has NEVER been any "ill speak" of other denominations.
You are the one being pawned. Hope you find your way back.
Unfortunately, some here put their hatred of Mormons before the good of our country. THAT is what bugs me.
if HE shows up, itll be 'fixed' all right...
ive got enuff baggage of my own for Him to pay for, i aint adding the likes of a homo enabler & baby killer...
Mitt thinks that he will become a God, just like the one you call creator. Mitt thinks that your creator was once a man like Mitt.
Here is what the Catholic church says about Mormonism.
ARE THE MORMONS CHRISTIAN?
No. Mormons are not Christians. The Mormons will claim to be Christian because they claim to follow Christ, and believe in the Bible. They say that Jesus is a god, but not THE God. They also believe that Lucifer is the brother of Jesus.
WHAT DO MORMONS BELIEVE?
Even God was once a Man like ourselves who evolved into a god.
By following all the rules and ordinances of God here, Mormon men and women have the potential of also becoming gods. “As god once was, man is. As God is, man may become” (Joseph Smith’s words). Mormons believe that there are many worlds and many gods. Each god is similar to God the Father, having the same powers and omnipotence, and even being able to create their own worlds. “Heavenly Father” is only the name of the god who rules over this world.
Hatefull jackasses like you are getting to be really sickening. Why don’t you just go away?
Eeek, sorry, I don’t follow the catholic religion.
