The Minnesota Supreme Court on Monday, Aug. 27, rejected a legal challenge to a proposed constitutional amendment that would require voters to show photo ID at the polls.

The high court tossed out a lawsuit from left-leaning groups who argued that lawmakers had failed to give voters the full scope of the changes that would result from the amendment.

My favorite Apocalypse Now! comment to the Strib's story:

Our country is teetering on the precipice of a theocracy, where wealthy white men will dictate what we must believe, who [sic] we must marry, who can vote and how we do it, who can live within our borders, what woman can do with their bodies, and on and on.

I think he/she's covered every turgid talking point in the Big Liberal Book O' Cliches.

Ritchie is either a Democrat, a homosexual or both, right?

Can you hear the loud weeping and gnashing of teeth at the Minneapolis Star Tribune over these decisions?

The sound of weeping and gnashing is a constant drone at the MPLS Star & Sickle even without these court decisions. ; )

Whatever he is George Soros owns it lock, stock, and barrel. He is part of the Soros Sec. of State project that has been chaotic since its inception.

One thing is for certain, and that is today he thankfully is a loser amongst losers.

What is absolutely disgusting is that the alternative titles they sued to add were distinctly created for the purposes of confusing the electorate. Using those title, you wouldn’t know how your vote would count - another in the sad state of affairs in the left. They’re ideals cannot win on the merits of their argument, so they continue to dumb down our schools, misinform minorities keeping them ‘on the plantation’ and afraid of ‘the man’. It’s truly sickening to see the levels they sink to trick people into voting for them.

when we had the homo sham marriage question here the homostapo used or tried to use confusing language to fool the elderly.

They ran AD’s saying if we had man and a woman then normal couples would be affected.
They had signs saying vote yes on 2 meaning if you did then you was voting for sham marriage.
They used such dirty tactics and they will not stop using tem at all because they know that most are against their agenda and their perversion of a marriage

'read some of the dyspeptic comments posted to the Mpls. Star Trib's story.Aug 27, 12'

OH MY GODD NOW THIS HAS TO BE A PART OF SOME HILARIOUS COMEDY ROUTINE DOESN'T IT?

1. AND 80 YR OLD LADY 2. NO LIC. 3 MANY STATES 4. MANY TRIPS BWHAAAHH 'OH, THE HUMANITY!' RHEMA I FEAR THE VOTERS IN MINN. ARE IN GRAVE DANGER OF LOSING THEIR CIVIL VOICE .....BWHAHAHA WHAT A FANTISIST.....IT'S 'unconscionable' I TELL YOU...HAAHHAHA THIS ONE DEF. VOTED FOR THAT 'WRASTLER GUY' DON'T YOU THINK? PROB SAWR HIM RUNNIN AROUND THE RING IN HIS BOA...

The "free" ID is not "free" if an 80+ woman who never drove, or who let her divers license lapse, must purchase documentation -- perhaps from multiple states -- in order to qualify for the ID. That documentation would likely include a birth certificate and a marriage certificate (or certificates) to show the chain of name changes. Even in MN, it could require multiple trips to relevant agencies, and there would be associated travel costs. Not everybody lives in the county seat (for documentation) and in outstate MN, the DMV offices are not open for business every weekday. There are over 200,000 registered voters who currently do not have picture IDs in any state database. If there is a problem because of old, handwritten documents not matching spelling, it takes court action to achieve consistency in records -- as was the case for me -- and that's a cost. The impact on such people, who have voted legitimately for many years, is unconscionable. All this amendment will do is prevent impersonation. Your drivers license does not state that you are a U.S. citizen. You do not have to be a U.S. citizen to get a drivers license.

Mark Ritchie, stop your voter ID fabrications

In his official capacity as the state's top election official, fairly including Secretary Ritchie's opposition to photo ID in the debate is appropriate, but he needs to recant his recent fabrications:

-- He wrote that if you lost your wallet "you would not be allowed to cast your ballot," and that election officials would be required "to deny the right to vote" to anyone without photo ID. False. That is exactly why the amendment allows you to cast a provisional ballot if you forget your ID, which is counted in the vote tally once you provide identification.

-- His office claimed almost one million voters would have problems voting. This defies logic. Ninety-seven percent of registered voters in Minnesota have a driver's license, and the legislation requires free state IDs for those needing them. Other states with photo ID experience very few provisional ballots per polling location.

-- Ritchie claims photo ID would "replace" same-day registration with provisional ballots. Nothing in the law requires this preposterous conclusion. In fact, same-day registration should be faster and more reliable with a photo ID.

-- Ritchie says verifying eligibility in the polling place on election day is not possible. Nonsense. The photo ID provides most of the information. And felon, guardian and incompetence exception lists can easily be provided to the polls along with the poll books. This is common sense. And if Secretary Ritchie is not already doing these things today, what does that say about the current (lack of) checks on same day registrations?

-- Ritchie wrote that election results would not be available for days or weeks after the election because of photo ID. Pure scare tactics. This has never once happened in any state with photo ID.

-- His office claims that every absentee and mail-in ballot would fail the eligibility test. False. We already have an eligibility process for absentee ballots that would satisfy the new law and was bi-partisanly improved after the Franken-Coleman election.

-- Ritchie claims the photo ID "system" would cost local governments millions of dollars and raise property taxes. What system? Voters just bring their ID. There will of course be costs for training, voter outreach and free state IDs. Well worth it. But nothing in the legislation requires local governments to buy new technology.

Minn. Secy of State Mark Ritchie is a closet marxist with close ties to the Communist Party USA/Minneapolis chapter. (See: www.keywiki.org, Search - Mark Ritchie, for documentation.

This is a major defeat for the Soros-funded “Secretary of State” elections campaigns wherein leftist run for this crucial office, funded and aided by Soros/his fronts, and leftist/marxist affinity groups.

They tried this crap in Wisconsin (Benson got her head handed to her), and apparently New Mexico, poss. Arizona, etc. Put in leftists who will tamper with election ballots/counting, election rules, etc.

Seems like there are some patriotic, awake Minnesotans still fighting the hardcore left of the DFL, League of Conservation Voters. The same in Wisconsin fighting Democracy Wisconsin (another Soros front allied with the Apollo Alliance and affinity groups).

Time to keep kicking ass and taking names for political/ideological obituaries.

Thanks for the backgrounder. We’re truly in a fight for our republic. It is terrifying how far we’ve moved toward fascism over the 20th century.

Progressivism is deadly.

For president? I believe so. Not for the Senate, though—the GOP nominee is a Paulistinian with no chance of winning.
