If the Birther Issue Comes Up in Debate
American Thinker ^ | August 27, 2012 | Jack Cashill

Although some on the right were disappointed that Romney did not pursue this, he was wise not to. This was not the right time. The right time is during a debate. At least one moderator will find Romney's bait irresistible, and I am guessing it will be CNN's Candy Crowley. What follows is a proposed strategy for the Hofstra University debate on October 16. My guess is that Romney has pretty much figured it out already, thus the remark in Michigan:

CC: Governor Romney, in Michigan you told a crowd of supporters, "No one has ever asked to see my birth certificate." Don't you believe that the birth certificate President Obama presented last year is valid?

MR: I have questions about its validity, but that is not why I raised the issue.

CC: Why did you, then? Weren't you afraid that some people, minorities and immigrants especially, will see that as a subtle attack on President Obama because of his race?

MR: Candy, not at all. No one ever asked to see Jesse Jackson's birth certificate when he ran for president or Al Sharpton's when he ran. And they are both black, both proud representatives of the president's party. I raised that issue because of the unique uncertainty surrounding Obama's early years. I know I was born and raised in Michigan. I said as much. I would ask you or the president himself to tell us where he spent the first year of his life.

CC: Mr. President?

BO: Um, um, I am not sure I understand why this question is relevant.

CC: Governor?

MR: It is relevant because President Obama built his 2008 campaign, indeed his very persona, around the fact that he was born into a happy multicultural home. . .

” explain why he has spent well over a million dollars with the law firm of Perkins Coie to suppress and fight legal challenges to his Constitutional eligibility to hold the position of POTUS. Wind up that pitch with a question “Mr 0bama, were you lying then, or are you lying now?””

I understand the Obama cover up is now in the area of 4 million dollars.

Sheriff Joe now headed for Tampa
Amid Obama probe, DOJ lawsuit, he’s ‘wildly popular’ throughout the nation

Amid his battle with the Justice Department and his investigation of Obama’s eligibility, Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been asked to address a large audience of delegates to the Republican National Convention in Tampa.

The invitation-only reception for delegates from Western states will be held Aug. 30 at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa. Elephants, appropriately, are expected to be at the GOP event.

(PS the last figure I saw for 0kaka’s lawyer costs was $12 mil, posited by a lawyer.)

Alvin Onaka confirmed in a legal document for Ken Bennett that Obama’s HI birth record is not legally valid.

It’s been published. It’s already out. Why didn’t you know this already?

It's not "unclear" at all. George Romney was born a US citizen to US citizen parents living in Mexico. He didn't need to be "naturalized". George Romney ran for, and was eligible to become the US President.

Actually, there were questions at the time that George Romney ran for president but he dropped out early in the race so nothing was persued.

So, by your thinking this applies to anchor babies, as well. Let's see how that works -

George RomneyJorge Anchorbaby was born a US Mexican citizen to US Mexican citizen parents living in Mexico the US. He didn't need to be "naturalized".... Woo Hoo!!!! All those anchor babies are Mexican citizens so let's ship 'em back. Whew, problem solved. No government perks to Mexican citizens!!!

Is there any way to verify this?

Dude, it's not logical to claim a document is fraudulent and then immediately reference it to support your next point.

Until it is "legally" declared fraudulent (challenged and ruled upon in a court of law) then it is still a legal document.
Charges have to be brought and none have been to date, even on the lesser charge of uttering.

No charges filed, no ruling issued, no "legal" declaration of forgery...it's still "legal".

Here, look at it this way...

A kid goes to a bar and offers up his driver's license as proof of age.
The bouncer sees nothing wrong and let's him in.
The same thing happens for three more weeks and nobody questions him.

The next time the kid goes bar hopping he again shows his DL thinking that he'll get away with it just like he has in the past.
This time, though, the bouncer actually knows what to look for and tells the kid to wait a minute while he calls over the local LEO who happens to have "patrol duty" there that night.
The cop looks at it, sees that it's a fake and promptly busts the kid for using a fake ID.
Get the picture?

Until the ID is challenged and "an official" looks at it and declares it a fake the kid can use it all he wants as on its face it appears to be a "legal" DL.

Yes, but I only apply them if I like the person. If I think the person is evil scum, I let loose.

Technically speaking this is a “debate tactics” thread, not a Constitutional eligibility thread.

Um, no. It is neither a ‘legal’ nor ‘illegal’ document. It is merely a document, and that reality is why the lying barry bastard boy commie witht he enabling by the medai has been getting away with this scam for so long.

"But Jack Cashill’s underlying point matters: given the opportunity, Mitt Romney must be ready to knock this out of the ballpark with a hammer-blow that puts the onus where it belongs – on Barack Obama."

Correct. It's difficult to say ahead of time what kind of "birther" question might get lobbed Romney's way in a debate, but if and when it comes, he needs to be able to respond in a way that places the onus, as you say, squarely on the man calling himself Barack Hussein Obama.
