ST. PETERSBURG -- Former Florida Gov. Charlie Crist, a Republican-turned-independent, continued his political makeover Sunday by endorsing President Barack Obamas re-election and calling him the right leader for our times.
President Obama has a strong record of doing what is best for America and Florida, Crist wrote in an op-ed column in Sundays Tampa Bay Times, and he built it by spending more time worrying about what his decisions would mean for the people than for his political fortunes. Thats what makes him the right leader for our times, and thats why Im proud to stand with him today.
Crist praised Obama for protecting the middle class, strengthening Medicare, guiding the nation through an economic collapse, supporting public schools and investing in highways, railroads and airports, but without using the word stimulus.
Crists opinion piece is the latest in a series of political steps in which he appears to be inching closer to becoming a Democrat and potentially challenging Gov. Rick Scott in 2014. That would complete a metamorphosis for a politician who once called himself a Reagan Republican and a Jeb Bush Republican.
Crists career crashed to a halt in 2010 when he left the Republican Party, ran for the U.S. Senate as an independent and was soundly defeated by Republican Marco Rubio.
...An element of their party has pitched so far to the extreme right on issues important to women, immigrants, seniors and students that theyve proven incapable of governing for the people, Crist wrote. Look no further than the (U.S. Rep. Todd) Akin amendment in the Republican Party platform, which bans abortion, even for rape victims. ... The truth is that the party has failed to demonstrate the kind of leadership or seriousness voters deserve.

The Lord be with you and yours! :)
oh nooooooo!!!! I don’t know whether to laugh or throw up!
I’ll go with laughin’, lol
Green Iguana. Just sayin’.
Just announced tonight that he will be speaking at the DEMOCRAT convention.
He is NOT an independent. He is a political opportunist DEMOCRAT.
.
.
Charlie is just proving what many of us have known since 1986. He should never have been allowed to run as a republican.
Thats what makes him the right leader for our times.
The ramblings of a fool.
Whatever happened to Charlie’s beard?
Gag.

Yeah, that’s why he rushed to a podium to announce all the details of SEAL Team 6’s assassination of Bin Laden before any of the intel from the raid could be exploited. That’s why he put all of our intel-gathering as well as our actual men in the field in danger - all for the chance to hush the discussion of his long-form BC before the truth of it being a badly-done forgery could get its shoes tied and start being seen in the neighborhoods.
I am disgustipated by Obama and by all his brainless apologists including Charlie Crist.
I wonder if he still has that fake tan he used to sport...always looked as if it came out of some cheap instant tan bottle.
Crist, what a weezel. I am happy he got creamed in his primary against Rubio and then went down in flames in the general.
What does that Morgan and Morgan ad always end with: For the people. They can add in now: Obama’s people into that ad now.
In addition to being a likely flamer, Charlie Crist also endorsed “slavery reparations” back in 2008.

a’Before the wife of the former governor of Florida married Charlie Crist in 2008, she was married to Todd Rome, the wealthy owner of a private company called Blue Star Jets. The businessman recently filed a lawsuit suing his ex-wife for child support for their teenage daughters.
Carole Rome, know now as Carole Crist, left her husband in 2007 in a high-asset divorce and married Florida’s Republican governor Charlie Crist the following year. Charlie Crist served as governor until last year.
Todd Rome has primary custody of their 13- and 15-year-old girls and claims that the child support lawsuit against Carole Crist has little to do with money. According to the filing, Carole Crist actually has no legal responsibility to pay child support. No court order ever demanded it and the jet company owner is in a position where he does not really need the support.
The Blue Star Jets executive says the suit is to bring attention to the fact that the former first lady abandoned her children by cutting off contact with them.
Rome, who has remarried, asserts that Carole Crist has not offered any financial support for her children nor has she stayed in touch with her daughters. Reports say Crist failed to visit the teenagers for graduations and birthdays.
The former first lady of Florida has not publicly commented on the lawsuit, although the ex-governor recently touched on the subject. Charlie Crist upgraded to a larger, two-bedroom apartment in St. Petersburg recently, which he explained was to accommodate visits from his stepdaughters. It will be interesting to see how the courts decide on this child custody matter.”
I didn’t think that a “beard” was necessary any longer. It is so 60’s, now they are suppose to be out and proud!
To put this in perspective, John Morgan of Crists’ law firm is the #1 fundraiser for Democrats in the state of Florida.
Good information.
He was then; what he is now; and we always knew it...
